And today we have a rap battle that shows this by taking two classic video game duos and putting them against each other in the first team battle of the series! It’s the bear and bird from Spiral Mountain who serve as one of the biggest faces of 3D platforming, Banjo and Kazooie, against the summit-scaling mountain slayers from the NES, Popo and Nana, aka the Ice Climbers!

banjo & kazooie are a pair of fictional video game characters and the eponymous protagonists of the video game series banjo-kazooie, created by british video game developer rare. banjo and kazooie were both introduced as player characters in the original banjo-kazooie (1998). banjo is a bear accompanied by kazooie, a bird who is often seen seeking shelter in banjo's backpack and emerging to perform various moves and attacks. the pair have gone on numerous adventures together, fighting against the sinister plans of the evil witch gruntilda.
banjo first made his debut as one of the playable characters in diddy kong racing (1997). decades after the release of the original game, banjo and kazooie gained widespread attention for their playable appearance in nintendo's super smash bros. ultimate fighting game. banjo and kazooie received positive reviews for their humor in the banjo-kazooie series and appearance in super smash bros., having been one of the most requested choices for inclusion in the series.
the ice climbers (jp), popo (jp) and nana, a boy dressed in a blue inuit parka and a girl dressed in a pink inuit parka respectively, are the stars of the nes game ice climber. these two have always been pioneers and have scaled many icy mountains in their time. in their glory days, they pursued a condor who, peculiarly, had possession of cucumbers, eggplants, and various other vegetables.
they appear in super smash bros. melee as playable character, and again in the sequels super smash bros. brawl and super smash bros. ultimate. in all three games, choosing certain colors will put nana as the leader and popo as the follower.
