Slowed it down to half speed to learn some of those licks and when you came on to talk BanjoBen, you sounded like a real hilarious drunk uncle. LOL! Thanks for the lessons and dedication.

FYI, I saw your sisters play up here in Washington at the Hovander BG Fest. Awesome talent in your family.

My ambition is to visit one of your US camps; I'm getting on now and ill health has slowed me down, but Haven't given up, you are so inspirational, and an exceptional muscician as are your sisters.

hi Ben! love your lessons! have you heard the cover of Johnny Cash's "ain't no grave" by crooked still, it's got an awesome banjo part and solo, just wondering if someday you would have to time to do a tutorial on that :):)

Hey Ben!!! I don't know if you've heard of the song or not but I was wondering if you could do a video on how to play the song "I'll Stick With The Old Stuff"
@loganhoy22658 жыл бұрын
You mean the Rochester song?
@tituscomer72688 жыл бұрын
+Logan Hoy Yes... There's another group that I listen to that sings that song to.... If you would like to here it type in The songs name then after that type in "by The Kevin Walker Family." Or by "Roundup Ministries"

Not really true melodic style but okay.

Dpg rant87 It’s a matter of opinion I guess but this seems more like Scruggs style than melodic style. Scruggs style is where the melody is encased in a series of rolls just like this. Melodic style is where each pluck of the banjo string plays a different note of the melody. Just like a song is played on the fiddle.

K Conrad You are one hundred percent correct. The majority of the tune is in scruggs style, but the transitions between the chords are melodic- that’s the whole point of the video! I found this video very useful at spicing up my backup playing. Keep up the good work, Ben!

Dpg rant87 I guess I misunderstood the title as well as the point of the video.

K Conrad In your defense, I had not seen a video or piece of instruction like this before. I think it can be easily confused. The use of melodic licks to facilitate chord transitions is a great idea, it really adds a nice variation to rolling back up!
