Mike, i'm from Brazil and basically no one here knows what a 5 string banjo is. I love folk so i bought a fender fb54 and i'm learning how to play. I gotta say, i'm using your lessons, banjo ben, Jim pankey..and i found you the best for me so far. Some of them tend to skip details like "beginners play beginners songs, this is not beginner so you can get by"..you give attention to details and thats key for me. Thank you for your lessons.

Great lesson again. I love mixing Scruggs and melodic in different parts of a song. Sometimes adding just a generic backup at some points to allow other elements of the song (like the lyrics) shine through.

Thank you! Yes, unless playing fiddle tunes, I like to throw in Melodic licks just occasionally. It can be over powering if used too often when playing backup (at least in my opinion). - Mike
