Thank you for this video, I wish I had this kind of advice when I was much younger but this is something we lack in the black community. I'm black British but the advice is applicable to all. I love, love the names you gave the savings categories, hell yeah is my favourite. I'm glad I found your channel as I haven't come across anything like this in the UK dedicated to black women. Thank you and God bless

Black American women are life savers I owe everything I know to them. I am West African raised in the US. The women from my community just didn't have the life experience and the strength to teach me how to navigate threw this life as a Black women in society. I will be moving abroad and the one think I will miss about the US is the African American community.

This was good information. Thank you for this video. I am in the process of moving abroad and I have an account with CS that I planned to use as my primary bc I have a debit card but really wanted to keep my home credit union account. I also need to break up with BOA bc they are trash. Please provide more content on what to do with a retirement account from a previous employer and anything on investment. Thank you.

Most financial professionals like at advisors and planners are structured to make money off of their clients NOT to empower them with knowledge. I'm a believer that anyone can do this if they have the information.

I am a senior woman. My son lives in Ghana West Africa. I heard that Charles Swab is a good bank for Intnationl travelers. Is this true or not. I am 90 years young and had training about money. My son wants me to move there with him. I now live in California.

Hi Adalia. You ended saying to not lose that local account and that's exactly what did me in. Can you advise me? Everything I own was stolen in my move to Egypt and I couldn't maintain my key bank. Now Egyptian banks have gov restrictions & won't give me an account without something called iqama. Is there an an American online bank that will give me an account so I can at least receive a paycheck? Please help.

Hi, I'm Martin From Michigan(Detroit). A 61 year old white guy. This video of yours is from a couple years ago. And near the beginning, when you're introducing yourself, you say you help specifically black women. I got disappointed. Because in a fleeting thought i imagined myself clicking off to some other video. But i thought wait. Finanfial advice... bank account advice is fairly universal. So i thought i hope she(you) aren't making a bunch of universally useful videos and turning people away who aren't black women. Because that would be self defeating. Then i looked at the stats on this video. Hmmm 6k views. Shoot thats pretty good. But what if you said you help "people" in all these videos versus the teeny small demographic of black women? :) I'm gonna watch this video even tho I ain't black nor a woman. :) also... I'm coming at you in love. So it's not a neg vibe. I retired 15 months ago and moved to the Philippines. There are a lot of guys here from every color of humanity. Expats... a couple i know recently had troubles with their bank accounts back in the states. Royal(big) trouble. Like the banks shutting off their accounts. So im watching these videos on this subject even 2 year old ones. To see if i can discern and learn the rules. Seems some u.s. banks won't keep a persons account running if they don't live in the states. I really can't fathom why the H not. Some of these guys had to make trips back to the US to reestablish or make new bank accounts. Which costed a huge amount when compared with their meeger pension incomes. For myself I just want to be legal. Don't want no problems. Anyway. I'm thinkjng about starting my own youtube channel(not in financial things and you're another awesome inspiration. I just need to learn how to edit video to construct the video and then i can. :) Thank you.... have an awesome day.

Thank you for the video, it is very helpful. Can you also explain what mailing and physical address you use for both your bank and brokerage accounts? I know that some people use a virtual address service, but banks and detect if it is virtual and they can close your account. I've asked this question to several expats and nomads, but everyone just states to use a relatives address, but that solution won't work for me. Any help on what address to use would be helpful. Thank you.

I have been an over the road truck driver, physically living in my truck full time for six years. The issue of a mailing address is always an issue. What has worked best for me so far is getting a mailbox at a UPS store because it is actually a street address and not a PO Box. Yes, sometimes when you offer it as your mailing address it is flagged as a “commercial address” and not a “residential address” but that happens rarely enough to still make it worth it. I also have reduced the amount of mail I receive by opting in to electronic/online statements only. Most companies you deal with offer it to save printing and mailing costs and “the environment”. Although I’m trying to eliminate as many home country costs as possible while traveling, some costs you can’t avoid. 🤷🏽‍♀️

How can I open a US bank account without a US address? Don't these accounts require you to be a US residence?
@AdaliaAborisade
@AdaliaAborisade 2 жыл бұрын
If you use a US bank you will need a US address. This is one my top pieces of advice for those moving abroad, maintain an address in you home country. It makes life much simpler.
@starrlightmyst
@starrlightmyst 2 жыл бұрын
@@AdaliaAborisade That's good advice. When I first moved abroad, I kept my bank account and an address (my parents house). But after a few years abroad, Bank of America closed my account due to inactivity and a low balance. When my father passed away 3 years ago, we lost the house. I brought my mother to live with me abroad. So there went my only US address. Would it be considered illegal to use a family members address as my own in order to open a US bank account?
@sharonl4821
@sharonl4821 Жыл бұрын
@@starrlightmyst You need a physical address, not a PO Box, but it doesn't have to be where you live FT. They don't need to know you don't live there or own the property. It is frustrating that US citizens can't have a US bank account but live outside the country. Good luck.
