We fished the Columbia 40 years ago, shad fly and bobber. caught lots of rainbows 2 to 3 lbs. in spring late April to mid May, we caught salmon flies and stuck them on a single hook tossed them out in the eddies and caught many larger rainbows. In October there is a large sized May fly hatch ad some of our old friends used number 6 or 4 flies polar coachmen and steelhead fly rods with 100 yds backing fished from boats and could barely land 10-12 rainbows. my biggest was 36 inches nose to fork in tail, never weighed as i RELEASED IT.

Awesome video. Subbed. Out here in California and got into mini jig last spring. 7’ spinmatic UL Revros 1000 2lb izorline Wanting a float rig. Any tips on rod length for lake banks? Thanks.
@ChrisKingAngling3 жыл бұрын
8-9 foot glass rod that is softer would be a decent choice for float fishing. If you get too long of a rod you lose casting accuracy.
