if you observe carefully there is a time difference of 30 minutes. if he walks at 20km/h. the time is "x/20" and similarly with a speed of 50 his time wud be "x/50". now difference would be 30 min or 1/2 hr. so our equation is "x/20 - x/50 = 1/2" solve it u will hv ur answer

please answer me these... i needed practice...it would be helpful Q1. If a man travels at a speed of 20 km/hr, then reaches his destination late by 15 minutes and if he travels at a speed of 50 km/hr. Then he reaches 15 minutes earlier. How far is his destination? Q2. What is the least number which when subtracted from both the terms of the Fraction 6/7 will be give a ratio equal to 16/21?

assume the distance to be x. now we know that time=distance/speed, so (x/20)-(x/50)=30/60. solve this u will find the answer. note. here the total time interval b/w the two is 15min+15min=30min=(30/60)hrs. hope u get it..

for 2nd question assume the last no. is x then the equation will be (6-x)/(7-x) = 16/21 solve this to get the value of x
