Extremely well done Rod!! I wanted to make a few points If I may. Personally, I prefer the advantages that a PDF form of card gives me when it allows me to edit and add things to the player cards and the action cards in any way I prefer, That’s a huge factor for me. I also wanted to mention that Ive had to add a offensive rebound rating number to the Action cards in CB2K, It wasn’t allowing the better offensive rebounders to preform realistically, Just another reason for the PDF card format being an advantage along with the value your getting. Im dialing this game in slowly, And Im enjoying every minute of it. The simplicity of CB2K play is allowing me to make changes very quickly with satisfying results. Your videos and your passion for the game of basketball has infected me and many others Im sure. Thanks for sharing it to the world

Really good comments about the flexibility of the PDF cards, Bruins Fan. Doctoring and work-arounds are far easier with the CB2K cards as there is ample white space on all cards (especially player cards and team defense cards) to be creative with the game. Cheers. 🏀

And you're right, I do have a passion for tabletop basketball games. I make presentations like this for the fun of it all and am happy to inspire others to enjoy the games they like. 🏀

Watching this video, despite not knowing if I want to go the tabletop route. That said, I really enjoyed it! I liked the footprint portion as I never thought of that. I have one dice based wrestling game I play and I still haven't found the footprint for me.

Thanks for the input and the praise, Patrick. I go back and forth between these two games. CB2K has a "two dice and limited FACs" flow that works slightly better for me. Both CB2K and Bank Shot have a good (small) overall footprint because few charts are needed for each of these games. Virtually all results come directly from the FACs and player cards, which works for me. Take care. 🏀

Great video. Would love to see/hear your thoughts on Classic College Basketball when you get to it. One of my favorite B-Ball games out there (NBA or College).

Hi Mike. Thanks for the praise. That Classic College (and Pro) Basketball Game has such tiny cards. Nice color and crispness to them, though. Now that would be a small footprint for game play, lol! The game I received came with those two sample cards I showed in the video in addition to the 61-62 NBA season of cards. They also have an impressive library of seasons (ABA, NBA, College) on their web page. Looks interesting. I'll try to get to that one when I can clear the schedule. Replay Basketball is next on the docket for me. Cheers! 🏀

Thanks for this informative review of both games.

Glad you liked it. I'm still relatively new to playing NCAA games on the tabletop. Had been mostly NBA and old ABA up to this point but enjoy aspects of both of these games. Take care. 🏀

A very fair and balanced review that gives potential buyers a REALLY good feel for not only the components plus the game play so they can make an informed decision on which, if any, they'd like to invest in. For a variety of reasons I think its challenging to make college sports games (specifically basketball and football)...rules differences, talent disparities, scope of home field/court advantage and the "feel" of the games can be challenging to capture, even if starting with a NBA-based (or NFL-based) engine.

Love the comments, Larry. As you say, there's really no perfect basketball game out there, and that includes NCAA basketball simulations. There are aspects of these two games that I like, but I think it comes down to the style of game you like best. And you're right - I really wanted to be as impartial and objective as possible so the viewer will be armed with as much information as possible prior to making a game choice. Have a good one. 🏀

After watching this I will be putting Bank Shot on my wishlist. Great breakdown. Subscribed.

Thank you for subscribing, Inncousous! Bank Shot is a fun game at the college level. I haven't acquired any NBA seasons yet but imagine the experience will be the same. Game parts of great quality, immersive details on the player cards, moderate learning curve. Joe's making new seasons (both college and pro) all the time. A brand new tabletop game with a bright future. Have fun! 🏀

Bank Shot game components are top notch like his other games but it feels like it doesnt have the flow like a Replay/Strat/Hoops.

Great comments. Bank Shot has a different style of play that I'm slowly getting used to. I haven't been able to get Hoops back on my table in months due to other experiments and projects. Replay is my next game to try out. Strat is also on my list to play. It's been a couple of years since I played a game of that. Have a good one. 🏀

Great comparison video! I lean more towards Bank shot but I've only played 2 games of CB2K. It's growing on me but Bank shot is my go to, but I'm also much more familiar with Bank shots rules.

Thanks, Jason. Bank Shot is a new adventure for me. I enjoy the challenge and am still getting used to the game flow, which was probably emphasized in the video. I enjoy the group of college teams, including those great ones from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Bank Shot's rules aren't too difficult, they just have a few tricky ones other Bank Shot game players have struggled with, including look-ups for assists and steals. Cheers. 🏀
