That was a TON of useful info. Pool players today are fortunate to have as many teachers of the game, which wasn’t true back in the day. Then, you’d have to torture a player to give up their knowledge.

Thankyou for the plain explanation and demos. I just watched a 40 min banking video and it was so complicated I got zero out of it lol. I appreciate your approach. Angle in, angle out. How to spot the double kiss and how to avoid, the speeds and angles and what side spins can do and then the cut-induced spin shots, that was awesome and simple for me to grasp. Now I know what to work on, cheers!

very good practical advice. most players in my league are surprised to find out about the effect speed has on banks and they definitely are not good at predicting double kisses.

I appreciate the video. Playing pool is my absolute favorite thing to do, although I'm not great at it. I hope to get a table at home one day soon. I could get a lot better if I didn't have to pay a buck a rack, or wait my turn when the bar is jammed up. BTW love the Gulf Shores plate on your wall. You don't sound like you're from around here. I'm basically right down the road, in Mobile. You got my sub. I look forward to more content.🤘

Very helpful but can you use the wider horizontal position when filming the video so there is less of a black border. What you are breaking down is amazing and I would like to see it better. Thank you. 🎱👍🏻💗

I also post on Tiktok, Facebook, Instagram, etc Have 150k followers on FB. Those formats are "Portrait" friendly. KZbin is now more "Portrait" friendly as well, with over half watching on their devices in vertical position. Also, you can select full view (bottom right corner) in Portrait mode. It makes the viewing better, unless of course you are watching on a TV. 😁

I might mention in 8 ball if you miss, it's very very handy to have a ball covering the pocket. I'm a sl 4 but can very consistently if I miss the bank, the ob is right there. I'm subconsciously adjusting for the wider angle but I've won several games by the problem my opponent now has with my ball in their way. Plus I don't send the cb into an unknown path.

Big Al thank you for the video. You have very impressive knowledge of the game. I hope to learn even if is only 10% of those banks. Can you show us some 2, 3 or more rail banks to side pockets?
@BigAlsBilliards11 ай бұрын
In this vid, especially in the intro, I have several 3,4, and even a 5 rail bank. In the teaching part, near the end, I go over the 3 Rail to the Side. On Facebook Reels, I have hundreds of short vids (Reels) on all sorts of cool 3+ rail banks.
@ERDG51611 ай бұрын
You’re right Big Al, I just noticed those. Are those center ball hits? Did you have any banks off long rails banks to short rails to side pockets bank? Btw real pros don’t edit, we all missed way more than you. TY

Yeah but you could drive a Mac truck along those rails and it would still go in the buckets lol try that on a snooker table lol
@BigAlsBilliards3 ай бұрын
No shit, really? I've NEVER heard any comments like that before. 😁 Duh, it's a different game. You would not attempt most banks in snooker. And my pockets are actually smaller than most North American pool tables @ 4". Pool should not be compared to Snooker. Completely different game, with mostly different shooting strategies. Like trying to race Nascar with Mr Bean's car. 😁

All I’m saying is skills on synthetic cloth yr generous rails and Bucketts can’t compare to the skills involved on wool cloth with a nap. I’ve plenty of 9ball on those table

Those and it doesn’t equate to great skills as per snooker players

Some of what you said early on was useful. But the 5th one is just showing when to shoot a long bank but most people know when. People need to know how to shoot a long bank instead. Just showing it doesnt explain anything.

@terrythomas440710 ай бұрын
Great info. A kind suggestion, because you and many of the KZbin teachers are good players it is easy when teaching to explain scenarios by pointing your stick or just talking out an imagined possibility. Sadly my brain can't follow without actually seeing you shoot the example. I am definitely a visual learner. No offense meant.
