The Ceilings were my FAVORITE PART of this forgotten Estate!!!! The Doors should have Stained Glass instead of what looks to me like Plexi Glass. I didn't know that you could LOCK a Grand Piano!!!! Learn something new everyday!!!! I would absolutely LOVE to have that OLD PHILCO FRIDGE!!!! I have a thing for them!!!! They're soooooo VINTAGE!!!! Thank-You Danny and Leslie; this was a GREAT FIND!!!!

It's so sad to see such beautiful furniture, it has to be worth a fortune..but the Government would rather let it rot than sell the items to pay the debt..the family pictures should be given to a family member..so very sad...😥

Why an amazing palace! It’s filled with BEAUTIFUL furniture and decorations. The furniture is still in wonderful condition. The ceilings are just a masterpiece of artwork, absolutely stunning. The craftsmanship in the woodwork is breathtaking. The chandeliers are gorgeous! It’s a tragedy to not preserve this home and let it go into decay. This could be a museum to preserve all these treasures left behind. Thank you Lesley and Danny for sharing this beautiful find with us. ❤❤

The mesh cabinet on the top floor probably originally was down in the cubbard area off of the kitchen. Those mesh cabinets were used to put pies and other pastries that had just come out of the oven to cool. Behind screen mesh to keep flies and other bugs from off.

Holly smokes!! You guys just brought back a very long time ago memories of my childhood, when we used to take empty bottles of sodas and or beer to purchase a new one. Back in the days, you wash and bring your empty glass bottles, so you pay for the content, not the bottle. Otherwise you pay for both and it is a lot more expensive.

Hey dear Lesley, I had to rewatch this video, and - really, oh my goodness, what a magnificient gem of a Portuguese grand mansion! The beautifully furnished rooms with these amazingly wonderful ceilings and beautiful chandeliers! So awesome to see! I also was completely surprised to see the electricity working in one of the rooms, where you had the chance to give a demonstration how wonderful the chandelier with a glass dome was looking with the light switched on and providing the room with a truly magical atmosphere! And - also this time I enjoyed so much your conversations with your very skillful and highly talented cameraman Danny, who everytime surprises me with his broad knowledge! Simply wonderful! An absolutely exceptional explore in that beautiful mansion, which I really enjoyed watching! - Such a shame, that there are already so many traces of decay visible! This mansion should be preserved for instance as a museum! Thank you so much for this wonderful video! Looking already forward to your next explore adventure. - Stay safe, bro! Peace, many hugs and kindest greetings from warm and sunny Switzerland.

When there is alot of decay in a short amt of time-> it makes me wonder how much was already in decay before they left, especially if they were struggling financially. .. They may have tried to sell or give away a bunch of stuff, but being such a large place, I imagine that they had accumulated alot of stuff. And when downsizing, a person can only take so much stuff. Especially if they had any warehouses full of furniture as well.
@BrosOfDecay2 ай бұрын
That’s a really interesting point! It’s possible that the decay started even before they left, especially if they were facing financial difficulties. Downsizing from such a large place must have been overwhelming, and they probably had to leave behind a lot. It’s fascinating to think about the history and what might have happened during those final years. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Hi Lesley and Danny, I don't understand why these countries do not send these homes to auction once the bank takes possession of the property. The buildings would get a new lease of survival, and the countries would make money, and they could auction off the belongings as well. What a beautiful home, it's just a shame it's left to decay. Thanks for sharing this one. Love from N.Y.

46:40 it's to be heated up with special coals, called "meta", it was used to warm up a curling iron - so you can guess that it was a ladies room. Good filming, Dany - do you know if that location is still on the market somewhere - i'd buy it just for some of it's contents, to preserve them for being waisted and distroyed finally if that leaking goes on... Best regards 🇨🇭 César 🦉 😇
