I bought a few ounces of physical gold a couple years ago. Paid about $2,000.00 fiat per ounce. If I sold two ounces today I would receive about $2,600.00 per ounce. So you see, Gold is going up in (perceived) value while the dollar (fiat) is losing value. So it takes more fiat to buy the same amount of gold that it took to buy it a couple years ago.

I got a email saying that someone I didnt know wanted to send money to my Corporate account. My husband said hey free money, and wanted to do it...I couldn't delete and block the email address fast enough. I purchased very few Christmas gifts, but what I did buy was very nice blankets for gifts and a warm, cozy winter coat for someone in dire need of one. The blankets are always necessary, at least here in South Dakota, and will be the best gifts ever if we lose power. I purchased online at Black Friday prices. I purchased no luxury items, but sure looked hard, and maybe drooled a bit, at some of the Dooney & Bourke Handbags at 70% off. It did tempt me, but I have enough and what good is a new luxury handbag if you have no money left to put in it? I am doing the smart thing and saving what little bit I have. If things keep going as they have been, some additional “self protection” equipment would be the wisest investment. You never know, one may need to deter squatters, thieves, or other bad intentioned people.

IHOP is no longer inexpensive to eat at. We stopped at one on a roadtrip out in Montana in spring of 2023. It cost $20 for one person to eat breakfast at!!!!! Eggs, bacon, hashbrowns. and coffee. The food was HORRIBLE! I swore NEVER to eat at an IHOP again.

People leaving Florida because it's just too expensive to live there and they don't pay a lot. If the average age is 32 that's young family age that's the age of residents you want to move to your state. If people in their thirties are leaving it's because there are no high paying jobs in Florida unless you're a plastic surgeon a judge or a County sheriff. Otherwise it's just you working a low-paying job and you are not making enough money to rent a house to buy a house to do anything but buy groceries and sleep in your car. This is the whole state. When you compare a city bus driver in New York City making like $25 an hour in Philadelphia making 27 in Washington DC making 30 and you get down there to Miami or Tampa and they're paying these guys $15 an hour.

Buffalo isn't as "dirt cheap" as it was a decade and a half ago, comparatively to downstate however it may seem so (because Hudson Valley Region, NYC and the Island are over-inflated to the max). Furthermore, Northern Virginia has some of the most expensive zip-codes in the country (near D.C.). You included PA, not me. PA has been and probably still is a very union-centric State (I have no way of confirming this however) so it could explain the reason if the figures you gave are accurate, same scenario holds true with Chicago, IL as well.

I lost a bunch of weight and had a new job after 10 years staying home with our son. I bought a whole wardrobe of really nice business outfits for $ 100.00 CAD at a thrift shop. Some still had tags. If you choose classic styles that mix and match, you can go for years without buying new. Just switch out scarves, jewelry, etc, for modern trends. If people are looking to see if you are wearing the "right label," you probably don't want to do business with them. Their fiscal responsibilities are in the wrong place. 😅 ps I kept the old clothes in case I gain weight again 😂

My tenant tried to play me for a fool 100 degrees heat wave in Southern California I disabled the A/c unit. She called me in a panic crying " it's too hot".
