You have to give Penn credit for how he treats the non foolers. He treats them with utmost respect and dignity and with positive things to say. This is all evident here,.

This is one of those tricks that isn't going to fool most people since you know exactly how he's doing it (hint: if you think there's a gimmick, there isn't), but it's still an amazing display of a rather unique skill.

I know this is an old video, and I have watched it a few times. The skill involved here is just so impressive. I cannot even fathom the number of hours of practice that must have went in to honing this skill to this level. Super impressive talent, and well as dedication.

I've seen all of these P&T episodes, hence why I'm digging back four years now apparently. This was one of my favorites (except the cups and balls ending...but I don't know how else you would have ended it and it does catch people by surprise despite knowing how it's done).

I'm not sure what Penn was referring to when he mentioned juggling, but to me it seemed like there's something gimmick about the table, every time you stoppe the cup, you put your other hand under the table and took a short break, almost as if you was doing something thru table, a trap door perhaps? but what i liked the most about this, is how clean and smooth it was. i knew you had to swap things, but didn't notice anything.
@fern5505 Жыл бұрын
Penn has said many times before something along the lines of: ‘magic is when you say you’re going to do something, and you don’t. Juggling is when you say you’re going to do something, and you actually do it.’ By mentioning juggling he’s saying that he thinks he’s actually stacking the dice, no trick, just skill.

The whole time watching my mouth was open just thinking, he's really doing that! Super impressive. Sometimes there is a bigger payoff not being fooled.

Is this really a trick? I know the end must be deception, but is the 'dice stacking' a matter of deception, or of sheer dexterity? Regardless, it's amazing!
@Hydra48 Жыл бұрын
No deception at all. It's literally just something where if you do it enough you become good at it.

I used to do this as a kid, by myself, when i was bored. I didn't know it was a thing, it was just inconvenient when playing games that required multiple die. Super cool seeing it performed.
@longbowshooter52912 жыл бұрын
When he had the guy pick where the blue dice should be, that was the order he fed the dice into the cup - 2 white dice, the blue one, then the white one. While some of the things he did were impressive, they were all just a matter of practice scooping the dice up in a certain order.
@zackula12 жыл бұрын
I think he was hoping that the guy named the color blue, and that Pen stated that he loaded that color in the cup - then he would have fooled on technicality that he just got lucky

@mrwaitlist2057 Жыл бұрын
He should have finished with a GREEN dice. That would have been cool.
@Gunbudder2 жыл бұрын
haha you didn't do the hard dice stacking trick, only the really easy one! the super hard trick is stacking dice ON TO A STACK. so you slam down your cup onto a tower already standing. the world record for dice stacking seems to be 38 dice. if i wasn't familiar with dice stacking and how exactly it works, this probably would have blown me away. i was hoping you would show the short dice stacked up like pancakes because that would have been impossible. stacking them on edge is the way they naturally want to stack. if you found a way to get them to stack the other way, i would crap my pants
@kenjhee6 жыл бұрын
Steve, you could have saved the die color thing. In Japan, green and blue are traditionally considered different shades of the same color. So your blue die technically matched the audience member's choice of green. Great routine nonetheless!
@logically1028 Жыл бұрын
But if its just juggling or skill specific & no tricks involved then why is he having that curtained table and why is he getting his hands under the table at times...!!

Switching the ending might ruin the trick, but it might be loads better if the bottom of the can was facing towards backstage when you pour it and revealed it still has no bottom
@HiddenRealm2 жыл бұрын
So the thing with the dice cut in half... That's actually the easiest way for those dice to stack. Why? Because the longer surface is getting forced to the side of the cup. Meaning, they all line themselves up naturally short sides stacking, and all you have to do, is not bump them over when you stop. Now I say that's what the dice naturally do, but to move them the right way IS honest skill, but what's actually harder and near-impossible would actually be to get them to consistently stack flat-side down on the table. Also, the top of his cups are clear, so he can just see the top dice and call it out like he's guessing it... Pretty simple trick. Cups and balls tricks though are always impressive to see though, but they're generally all the same when you understand how you do it.
