Bannerlord Tactics, Custom Battles: Small Scale Tactics (Do they work??)

Alright friends, we continue this series of instructional videos here hopefully demonstrating tactics in an environment similar to what you might be facing in your own campaign, that is to say, without my elite 8th corp, my elite beast of a character and my advanced army. In this series we'll take on our enemies outnumbered, often on the enemy 'home turf' and try and win battles with tactics despite the long odds. Volume XIII offers demonstrations on the smaller scale warfare between armies under 150 troops and asks whether or not tactics are a viable option to improve your odds of success...

My campaign is an extremely late-game campaign where I am resolved to give no peace to these scum Kingdoms attacking me - seven of the eight have been at war for years, with only Sturgia at a neutral stance. My family of warriors is now large though and with what remaining strength and valor we can must, we stand against the map of Calradia.

I use four mods:
Lord Retinue Uptier(Makes the enemy forces stronger, much less peasants and lower ranked troops)

Improved AI Troops(Also makes enemy lords and their armies tougher by giving them a higher daily xp rate. This means you'll routinely face armies with HUGE numbers of the highest tier units, sometimes four or five times the normal amount in vanilla Bannerlord): www.nexusmods.com/mountandbla...
Death for all: This mod allows you to set the rate at which nobles die more often. I want both a harder challenging late-game but also a more realistic game. If you're cut down with a massive aserai two-handed axe, you shouldn't just be injured 99.9% of the time. It's a very customizable mod so you can just a little more death or set the death rate so high you get several deaths every battle. The number I often like is '10', some deaths but not a massacre of nobles...

I also use the Dismemberment Plus Mod: It's highly customizable and works seamlessly with the new beta(and versions back to 1.28). I thoroughly recommend it if you enjoy carnage!:

I've also used Realistic Battle Mod in the past and highly recommend it for Ai and battle realism BUT I find the pace too slow for my taste and the AI is actually rather predictable after a half dozen battles. Much of the music and inspiration for this and other videos in the channel are inspired by Epic History TV - probably THE best channel on youtube(and the internet for that matter) covering the Napoleonic wars. Keep it up! Yesterday I've fought 1200 strugian army with my 500 family member-imperial and won by using kiting tactic from you vids and luring enemy infantry with peasants between the skirmisher lines and some cataphract charges. (Althoug it crashed around 5 times because of rmb ai module issues). Have you ever considered trying out troop overhauls? Like warlords battlefields or DeReMilitari (WB has some really huge troop trees and drm follows the historical conscript and levies system (irregular, regular and noble units)

If I am still a Bannerlord player in a few years(which is certainly possible because of the modding community, and this channel), I'll probably try a DeReMilitari campaign with RBM. I've heard amazing things about it...

Love this- personally i would like to see you use sturgia. I wonder if its possible to fight with an all brigand sturgian force (challenge ?) with some dismounted and some mounted divisions. my theory would be that its going to be great against villagers but not much else :) really looking forward to horse javelin, and how you would use those units (think the unit series is a great idea and like how you have done it)

Tried this a bit today and mangled infantry but good archer corp absolutely destroyed it. Not sure they are individually special but I could also try them vs. a mixed army too. I LOVE their versatility though...

@@HeadlessHorsemanProductions Awesome. was playing with the idea of a raiding party really, so the way i would use them is mostly against villagers untill i get caught by a lords party :)

Can you consider making individual troop class tactics videos? For example, cavalry; you would describe the ways in which cavalry can be used, screening, archer disruption, delay, flanking, etc.

small/middle size is a good thing. Cause major battles for average player will have that sizes < 1000 units tor both size
