That all depends what position you are holding. I was working as CX with power to unban or ban people accounts but with all of that comes responsibility. If I would ban someone or my friend "for fun" I would lose my job. If that would be someone from anticheat, director or supervisor he has more power so there is small probability that he would be taken accountable for that as he is not gonna be checked anyway.

But unfortunately the masses will more than likely never collectively agree to this and so you’re just falling off deaf ears. I wish that we could all boycott these companies, but it will never happen. Same way I wish simps would stop donating to 304s but that’s never going to happen. I don’t do it personally but I still do buy games from companies (MGS MC collection) if I have been a fan of the series even when the company doesn’t deserve it. Hell I fraud Sony and have been banned multiple times for fraudulent behavior - because screw Sony - but I am merely abusing their own mechanics so when I repeal my permanent ban, it gets approved because it’s their fault, not mine. So I get right back to the fraud

@@jameson8682 Setting up some kind of external program to play a game for you, or otherwise make the game easier for you but not necessarily for others. For example, setting up a program to constantly do a set sequence of movement commands, spells/attacks or recovery options like potions to clear the room or instance or whatever of enemies without you actively participating in those actions, or to collect resources, etc.. It's usually very frowned upon because the expectation is that you are using your own decision-making skills and reaction times to take down enemies and select targets. This can also encompass external programs that give you an unfair advantage compared to the rest of the players, usually by conferring information to you that is normally not present or otherwise impossible to have. The most basic ones are aimbots that give you perfect accuracy in your shots, or wall-hacks in first-person shooter games that allow you to see the enemy behind walls when you normally aren't supposed to. Both of those are especially bad in FPS's because a lot of the balance and skill in those games is predicated on your ability to keep your shot accurate despite what is often very chaotic movement as well as limited information on where the enemy team is.

Blizzard's banning processes are mostly bullshit... You're never "not guilty" even if you're innocent. What I mean, is even if they investigate and remove a punishment that was administered automatically, they don't remove the fact that you were punished in the first place. So the next time it happens, you get the next tier of punishment even though you don't deserve it. On one of my accounts, I got *7* suspensions overturned and every subsequent one was more severe despite the overturning (and keep in mind, it takes support 24 hours to respond and the early level punishments are already over by then), until that account eventually got _permabanned_ for doing nothing wrong... And they WON'T let you appeal a permaban. That damaged my trust in Blizzard to the point that shortly afterwards, I stopped playing any of their games on any of my accounts. Not worth investing time and effort (and money) if you can get banned from a game YOU PAID FOR for no reason other than being unpopular or "too good" and getting frivolously spam-reported.

And because they made it so it is always online losing your account means you lose that character and the time and effort put in.

Also, how they ban is usually based on the game. The account I referred to (with the 7 punishments that all got overturned) was banned from Overwatch, but I could still play Diablo 3, Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, etc. I tried logging into it to try Overwatch 2, but they carried over the account's permaban to a game it had never played on (while still allowing it access to all other games on the account). Which proves possibly 2 things: - They banned the account from the entire _franchise_ (which is stupid and unlikely) Or... - Overwatch 2 is a rip-off copy-pasting of Overwatch in more ways than just the game; they copied over account data and account history as well and are using the same servers as Overwatch 1.

He called the guy at risk department "my buddy", so they probably have talked together about the game. so.. two scenarios.. they find a botter and ban them, see "oh he was a leader of X clan" "hey, that's my friends clan" -> friend comes ask to show risk department to his guild leader or "hey I'm touring my guild leader this monday afternoon" -> "hey this guy might be botting" "hey that's the guild leader of my friend, he's having a tour here right now" or ig if they don't know each other that well it could be: ban the guy -> hey he's a guild leader -> see a blizzard employee you have talked with in the guild -> said employee comes telling he's touring his guild leader
