Bak in my younger day, I have owned a few banshee, Cr125s,250s, quadzilla lt500,. Banshee with 520bore kit was my all time fav,. Those computers that connect to carbs on dual carbs, when it’s out of tune it will ALWAYS run shitty,. I miss mine,. I would probably get bigger size dual carbs,. 34mm. And definitely make some sort of airbox/filter.,, u would be surprised the amount of grit/dust/dirt from the road u kick up while riding,. It will make its way inside and scratch cylinder walls to shyott,.. Sound like low -mid is out of adjustment,. The computer’s under the seat could be out of adjustment,. That engine has been full circle. They borrowed the basic engine design from the RZ350 for the Banshee, now the engine from a Banshee is put back into a motorcycle. If I'm not mistaken, the RZ350 had power valves but the Banshee does not. I wonder if an RZ350 cylinder would bolt right up to it, to get you the power valves, assuming they're electronic and don't need matching bottom end hardware?
@linksgarage19856 ай бұрын
You are correct. I heard that’s how the banshee came about. They had left over RZ engines they could no longer sell because of emissions. And they put them in a quad. And bam. They banshee was born. Because off-road vehicles didn’t have to meet the emissions standards. Not sure if that’s all true. But I read it long ago.

Even comes with YPVS!!! AND THEN IN 87 THEY CAME OUT WITH THE BANSHEE. NO MORE YAMAHA POWER VALVE SYSTEMS!!!!! P.S. Had a 1981 YZ 465, with a 1978 rd400 motor in it. I called it my desert sled. The chambers look much better underneath the bike. Road that around the Coachella Valley for 10 years. Couldn't keep the big air hammer from blowing up!!! (pump gas) A 'Cub', motor (425/RZ) MAKES ABOUT 100 HORSEPOWER!!!! TDX, I think with Yamaha called the Enduro version with this engine in it. Excuse me it was the TZR- 250 engine in it. Guy rides it like it's a 4 stroke and it's obvious that both carbs aren't jetted right. You supposed to ride a 2T like you stole it. There is no low end torque, you tune the engine and pipes for mid to top end. Stick to your four stokes if you don't know how to treat that beast. It's like you are scared of the Powerband because you change gears or back out whenever it kicks in. Too bad that Yamaha can't spin up to 14k rpm otherwise it would be nice. Look into an aprilia RS motor or the Yamaha TZR to see how and why 2T motoGP were setup the way that they were.
