Museveni’s mission is to stay in power for life. So, he has to have all these sensitive matters in place so that he appears to be the savior. If you do not believe me, ask yourself why a minister who steals public funds in Uganda is left untouched rather than being prosecuted. It is because Museveni has such people under his fingers. The deal is, “Go out to your constituency and make sure you promote my agenda or I’ll throw you under the bus because you stole.” Same thing, keep Banyarwanda guessing what’s next and reduce them to seeing Museveni as their only savior. So, every election they vote this man thinking he will put their issue to rest but no. Because, his mission is to stay in power. So, he has to gain from your suffering as banyarwanda community.

I am a munyankore from Uganda and was denied a passport in Rwanda given my longest stay in the country. I got bothered but again I respected the fact that every county has its laws. The banyarwanda Ugandans issue is way beyond what Gashumba is trying to portray it to be. Over time Frank Gashumba has projected the rights and aspirations of banyarwanda in Uganda. He blames president Yoweri Museveni for not protecting those tenets. Museveni the man and Museveni the president has been a conflicted person in the matter akin to what Barack Obama underwent as the first black US president. Damned if he improved black rights exponentially damned if he didn't! True elements of banyarwanda were Museveni's comrades in arms during the bush war but his royalty and allegiance is to the state and people of Uganda. Do recall he was once accused (with Kagame) of wanting to establish the Chwezi Empire comprising parts of territories of Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi and Eastern Congo!
