You actually DO have USB-C charging port on the Quansheng, behind the protective rubber ribbon on the side of the device.

​@@m7frs272 Its almost hilarious you talking in the video like it doesn't have any,? - Taken out of proportion by clueless people, not doing their homework and uxing common sense... its even highlighted in the Chinese market.. Its a kit that come with a dock, and a huge majority will just have their TX on charge 24/7 (if that is the case use the dock, it will tricklecharge with an optimised dock.) USB C port is momentary charging, use that is you wanna charge from a powerbank or AC charger but not for continuously charging where you will be using it and cabletensions etc on the port, though you could, its the same of the shelf chargecirquitry as in many other products.. so there are no magic or specific risks, but when its a kit that comes with incl. dockcharger bundled, and so you don't risk bending fragile small TypeC sockets or get dirt or water inside etc... then it goes without saying the maker says.. use the main rugged charge interface. :"cradle/dock" as they risk getting products back' but there are no "chargerisks" by using the Type C, its the same as any other product with a TypeC socket.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have the new Baofeng UV-K61 on the way, so hopefully I'll do a more in depth video next time. My feeling is that the Quanshengs with the firmware mod will out perform the Baofengs. Thanks for watching 👍

@@m7frs272 The speaker on the QuonSheng units are tiny and sound tinny and weak, I don't much like their audio, but their AM reception is superlative in comparison with Baofeng. I compared a Baofeng UF 18 GPS PRO MAX to a QuanSheng UV K5 (99), and overall preferred the QuanSheng, in side by side comparisons.

The Baofeng UV-K6 is not the same as the Quansheng. As far as I'm aware there is no scope for modification and if firmware updates are required, then I assume that they will only come from the manufacturer. Thanks for watching 👍

Interesting video, I hope mods come out for the K61 like Quan Sheng, which can have its firmware changed. The only way to extract the firmware is through reverse engineering, but I don't know how to do that. Regarding the K61's quality, it's superior in terms of audio quality and components. And yes, you are 100% incorrect as I have multiple radios purchased new off Amazon that will transmit on both ham and GMRS. In short, I don't care what you *think* things should be like...they are not that way all the time. Most radios adhere to this but there are some that do not (Baofeng included). Maybe don't reply to questions if you don't have the knowledge to do so.

Can i ask just few questions please? When you hack this like i been seeing people do. What exactly all will you find to the lowest frequency to the highest? Like is it just going be like air,marine,ham,cb, police, public workers? Or can you even get all the way up to shortwave radio stations? I assume it will also pick up your reuglar Am and Fm stations of radio. I know that was a lot to ask. Im just hoping somone please can make it little more clarification on most what you will here. These new radios are good for the money .. I don’t have a Ham licence etc I just use for air and receiving amd although they do work their biggest downfall is the speed they search .. even when u alter the firmware etc they are still slow for that purpose I find but amd I big but .. I still buy and use them to try out 🤣🤣🤣
