Oh man, your philosophy on doctrines just scratches the surface of quite a deep sociological truth. Great talk 👍

When I made this video, this was the class you are talking about. But it might be different in your parish. Check with your local parish.

*Catholics claim that baptism cleanses infants of inherited sin, but the apostle John wrote: “The blood of Jesus . . . cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7) Since babies are incapable of exercising faith in God and in Christ’s shed blood, why baptise them* ? Catholics baptise babies merely cause its based on ''''''church tradition''''', they have no true concept on what baptism actually entails.

Try thumbing through this www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/_INDEX.HTM Catholics believe some strange things but usually not what they're accused of. All the Sacraments get their power through the Lord's suffering on the Cross, so what John said is true of water Baptism. Baptizing infants is indeed a church tradition, one that goes back to the Apostles. So it must be ok if it's in the New Testament. (#1252 in the link above) Perhaps Baptism is more powerful than you thought. Latin Catholics hold off on Confirmation until the person is old enough to understand what they are receiving and can ask for it. Doing so is offensive to Eastern Orthodox who start children off as full members of the Church. BTW, biggest misunderstanding about Original Sin is that people think it is something you HAVE. It is a hole, a missing part, the lack of our Original Grace. What people inherit is a bankrupt estate, they don't get the legacy they were intended to receive. Baptism brings you in, but you still have to choose to stay in.

Candace you are ignorant of history and theology.
@michaelinhouston90867 жыл бұрын
Candace, you have been seriously misinformed. You should read (with an open mind) the Catechism and the teaching documents from the Church to find out what the Church actually teaches about Baptism (including Baptism of infants) and the Faith.

CandanceWhite, Read Acts 16. What is entailed by a "household" being baptized? Would it include infants? Also, why did Christ submit to baptism? He is sinless...So why would He submit to baptism?

CandaceWhite thank goodness you’re here. Rather than following a two thousand year old church that Christ himself founded, we’ll follow the teachings of a random Candace.
