Pretty funny when Jesse is telling Cori that it’s time to prove to him that she can be manager when he can’t even prove he can be an owner! I’m not surprised he failed and it’s what he deserved. When you are already failing & someone comes in to help you then you don’t ignore their advice & still think you know better. That’s just a slap in Jon’s face IMO

Ah, yes. The last of the trifecta of bar rescues in the Omaha metro area. (O'Banions/Sorties in Bellevue and O Face in council bluffs being the others) Only Sorties is still open although it was shortly closed then reopened under new management. Taza here brought the hookahs (and the oasis name) back so they could bring back in the 18-20 year olds. But they lost their liquor license in 2016 because too many people were reporting getting sick there and they closed less than a year later.

You could tell Jesse wouldn’t be successful because he still thought he knew better and disregarded Jon’s advice. Hookah isn’t a concept that you can run a bar on. You could have hookah nights. But for most people it’s something they try not something they keep coming back for And you could totally tell Jesse was yessing Jon but wasn’t with it. I don’t know why they even ask for help I’d they don’t follow his advice and still thinks they know better even tho they are FAILING

The thing about this episode that annoyed was Jon trying to get this owner to open his eyes and pointing out this is his livelihood on the line and his family depending on him working to make money in this business. I’ve been to a few hookah bars in Philly and none of them looked like that or had shitty service.
@johnathanpatrick61183 жыл бұрын
And Jesse (the owner of the bar) actually had the nerve to say to one of the cameras 'say what you want about me as an owner, do not mention my child (a daughter, I think). Stay out of my personal (life).' I'm going 'dude, get the f*** over it, apparently you needed that reminder because you obviously don't get that if the bar fails, you're sunk!!'. And this from an owner who's busy playing Connect 4 in his office while his bar is rapidly deteriorating.

Of course there are places where it will do well but for the most part hookah is a novelty. They’ll get a lot of people come in and try it for fun but then as Jon’s spies said it’s not something they’d come for on a regular basis which doesn’t make it a profitable concept. Jesse doesn’t know how to read the demographics and doesn’t care.
