Landlord is an idiot. He gets money from rent plus suppose to be getting money from the bar.

I worked at a place for awhile as a server that would make us all learn how to handwrite a ticket, and once every three months we'd run a service without the POS system. The manager said it was to prepare for in case the POS ever went down. It never did for the two years I worked there, but I guess if it did, we would have been prepared because we had the systems worked out!

Sweetie really strikes me as the kind of person who thinks working as a dancer is “easy money”. I’m not in the industry but I have some friends who are, and adult entertainment requires you to hustle HARD and know how to socialize with the clientele. I’ll bet Sweetie is so miserable because she thinks working in a club means you get paid to party, get drunk, and stand around looking hot for the guys.

John, I love you but learn to pronounce Nevada properly. Nevada has very good food and drink regulations. Unfortunately, has been a lot tragic instances that went to such strong regulations.

I used to go that bar every Thursday. It used to be a good bar. Before it was Rocky Point Cantina it used to be called Dos Gringos. Dos Gringos was much better and the place was packed but it’s just small and it take a long time to get a drink cuz it was busy. But that bar is not there anymore it’s been demolished many years ago

They are so desperate for money they don't care they are over serving customers. Absolutely disgusting!

In Hawaii, it's illegal to automatically serve a customer water automatically. You need to ask for water if you want it. often they will ask when you're seated.

Fun Fact: Tim "Ripper" Owens had terrible luck in both the major bands he was in. He joined Judas Priest in 1995 and released two albums with them (Jugulator in 1997, Demolition in 2002) before being unceremoniously fired when the guy he replaced (original singer Rob Halford) decided he wanted back in the band in '03. Then he joined Iced Earth in 2005 and released two albums and an ep and a couple oftracks on a live compilation release (The Glorious Burden in '05, Framing Armageddon: Something Wicked Part 1/The Clouding/Overtures Of The Wicked in '07, Festivals Of The Wicked [Live] in '11 [after he left]) before also being tossed out unceremoniously when their original lead singer Matt Barlow rejoined in 2008. Since then he's done a couple of solo albums that didn't really go anywhere and is currently in KK's Priest having done two albums and tours since 2021. And his stage name "Ripper" comes from his insane 8 octave voice that can range from a faily low baritone too countertennor highs, he's one of the very few people who can outdo king diamond's legendary falsetto.

Update: Power Strip closed for good in June 2016, which is only around seven months after the Bar Rescue episode aired on TV. The bar was listed for sale with an asking price of $600,000 (eventually dropped to $500,000). I’m not sure what happened with the sale, but I think there’s a good chance the bar was purchased given the location’s current situation. For a time, the old Chix on Dix Detroit location was occupied by a new gentleman’s club called Charmed Gentleman Club. So while Chix on Dix closed, the gentleman’s club tradition lived on at the Dix St. location. However, as of 2023, it seems like Charmed Gentleman's Club is also closed, as it’s marked as “Permanently Closed” on Google. I was also doing some digging and it seems like the Power Strip Detroit property was most recently sold for $200,000 in August 2020. That’s according to this Realtor.com listing. ( www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/403-S-Dix-St_Detroit_MI_48217_M41557-94222 ) Update courtesy of reality tv updates.

I watch episodes of kitchen nightmares where the cooks drink behind the line either chugging multiple beers or just one beer. It is a liability and safety hazard no matter how much is consumed. Double fisting tumblrs full of whisky/liquor on the job is absolutely disrespectful to the people running the business and others working in it
