For some stupid reasons Americans think it's important to be able to name themselfs differently from their real name when have to do official business, while civilized countries require you to be able to show the government issued Personal ID in order to proove to the other side that you are not impersonating an invented charackter. I'm not American, so I don't know exactly how the law works there. But isn't there any law or legislation that enables people to hasten the transition ? i.e : law against obstruction of governmental transition process, law against obstruction to serve the people (in co-vid handling process ) or something like that? will the people just let what currently happen just happened and wait until January ? what will happened then if the current government still refuse to concede ? No matter which government will be in place, the fact that nobody from the top really producing any policies on how to contain the pandemics cost a lot of people their life.
