Yeah the 3000mc and Premium Time really makes half that cost comparable to what they charge.

I put two Rac5's on my Bolt and in my first match on Hellebore I found a perfect ramp where I only had to expose to top of cockpit and kept half the enemy team pinned down. Had a 900+ dmg match on its first go out. The Bolt is fun! You're the expert, but I always found regular AC2's superior to ultras. Ac2's fire pretty fast already and without the jam risk, I found I prefer the consistent fire to the intermittent bursts when the ultras jam. I also just seem to have the worst luck with jams though.

I run 2x rac5 2x light machine gun 1 med pulse. Works good. Very versatile mech. I like :)

5:00 yea the "wolf pack"... dangerous. This map really dangerous for going alone, if enemy have mist lynx, javelin, viper, jenner pack (jumping wolfpack)

I think it's funny that you're finally experiencing something close to battletech where you don't know all the maps by heart and have to properly scout and work as a team. Yet everyone still runs around doing their own thing, little to no communication and complaining that they don't know the map. Lol

the new Map gives us a Reason to Bring Jump jets. So I Say keep it the way it is, where it forces you to bring Jump jets to get any where fast. :)

For this build, theres a nice hill area in d6 f6. You should try to use it, as you can get a good view of the tunnel and the above area. Amazing spot

Same build! I started off with a RAC5 build for the Bolt but it wasn't really working for me, so I switched to the quad UAC2 and it's been going much better.

This mech can really scream some damage out there - I immediately put 4 AC2's in that bad boy and have no regrets. I hate how the IS ultra's jam so much. Chain fire those bad boys and the stream of cockpit shake you throw out will definitely cause some concussions! Lol Love the vids!!

It looks like a decent deal to me. Aside from the two mechs, other stuff cost more than $20. 6.5mil V-Bills bundle is 4k MC so it's like $18-20 but we all know this is b.s. 3k MC alone costs $15. 30 Days of Premium Time is $14. GSP is also $14. I really love Roughnecks. Looking forward to your video when Predator pack is released on Jan 18.

What about a 3xLB10 and Std225 engine for that mech? 4, 4.5, or 5t of ammo. Especially for short engagement ranges on those ridges?

If I recall correctly Baradul, you did a Roughneck you called the "Huggernaut"... Been thinking that the Bolt could do a bit of hugging as well with 2xMRM30's, 4xHMG's, 3xSL's and an XL300 engine. Sure, a high risk/high reward brawler with biggest weapons in arms and a fragile engine, but a sweet 101 "alpha" (HMG damage over time distorts it a bit) makes me very interested. Would love to see how you'd play it. ^^

This loadout is something i did on the Hunchback IIC as well, but it has the same issue: the blinding when one fires. It´s very annoying, even dangerous if one is epileptic. For this loadout i would like a Catapult with ballistic hardpoint in the arms, nicely high up and out of direct line of sight when firing. Sadly such a configuration does not exist, at least to my knowledge.

Just polish the map up, it's fine. In the Bolt I guess you'd vote against Hellebore. Going in at a disadvantage like that can be fun, potentially provides scenarios where you'd make unique decisions 🤔

I've loved this new map so far but I think, other than one game in a Corsair, I have only played in mediums and lights. It feels like something from Tribes 2. On a separate point, I can't shake the niggling thought that Inner Sphere mechs are better than Clan ones she to the quirk system. Being overall tankier, dealing their damage quicker, and then getting bonuses to both of those and the Clans are what? Slightly more mobile? It's likely placebo/nocebo but I just feel so squishy in a Clan mech for not much gain.

I play fine without jump jets on this map, sure I take a stroll every now and then, but so do the enemies.

The bolt is predestined for builds like this. But the current power-creep meta makes it impossible to play for me. It either has to be a sniper, er-ppc or er-ll, gauss-combo poptard, or it needs an alpha strike of 75dmg+ to insta-delete the enemy. I was shocked once, as my 150 armor Marauder-II CT was already cherry-red after it ate two salvos in about 2 seconds. The bold has still not enough armor to face-tank when using Raks, or I'm just playing it wrong :D As much as I like Roughnecks in general, I'm struggling to get the Bolt working for me. Currently trying 2x Lb10-X AC, 2x LMGs and 3x ML and a LFE, more like a crit-seeker for the late game. This sometimes works, especially on the new map where's currently no coordination at all. Man, would I love to see ECM or JJs on that one. Maybe I have to invest in the mobility skilltree, to get out of bad spots faster. The Sunspider Ambush instead works like a charm. I dropped the LT for the one with ECM and put 4 C-LPLs on it. Done. Just Works.

I like the new map, that being said, I usually have a Mech with Jump Jets... because I'm a big fan of Jump Jets. The Bolt is pretty cool, but even with the extra jazz that comes with it, idk if I want to spend $20 US. Especially since I'm not really a fan of Clanner Crap as the second Mech... Idk... I really do love the Roughneck, I have one already that's great...

Your intro to the mech didn't sell it very well at all. You just didn't seem like you were too into the mech at all. Then, watched the games, your intro explained a lot. I think I'll be skipping on this build. With that many armor/structure perks, a brawler build seems more natural
