'Wootz' steel is a type of smithing material originated from 5th century BC in India. It has swirly texture like Damascus steel and supposedly very strong. It was very popular in Middle East and there were some reports that the Vikings back then managed to acquire wootz ingots from trading and applied it to their weapons (there are stories that Norse swords are extremely tough).

Sanji's goodbye to Baratie is really a touching moment and, as you said, the music is one of the main reason. I love how One Piece likes to show "gratitude", it's one of the best represented emotion in the entire series. Anyway, save your tears, because we are entering Arlong Park's arc and Nami's story.

One Piece is so good at depicting ugly-crying. In real life, when real hard emotions are hit, there's no such thing as pretty tears or beautiful crying. No, when we feel true emotions, we will look freaking ugly as hell crying. To me, this is why the emotional parts of one piece are so well received.

It's not the only reason, I think the writing is the primary reason the emotions hit so hard but the incredible way Oda draws crying hits so much harder than if they looked like models with artificial tears placed in their eyes.

I see some people here suggesting you do a Reaction to all the One Piece Openings. I can not stress enough that you should NOT DO THIS. The openings contain massive spoilers for some of the most emotional and pivotal moments in One Piece and you definitely don't want them to be spoiled. You should also be careful. I've seen other One Piece reaction KZbinrs be spoiled in their own comment section by bad actors. Maybe you should consider having someone knowledgeable filter the comments for you. I'd hate to see those moments be ruined for you.

When they watched episode thirty, and there was a flashback to Zeff and Sanji arguing when he was still a kid, I was looking away from the screen, and hearing it without seeing the screen finally let me realize who was doing young Sanji's voice. That's crazy, future straw hats are doing some of the characters this far back. I even double checked to be sure, and the VA is also famous for being the voice of Pikachu, which makes total sense considering who she plays later on. xD I noticed a similar thing when Jango was speaking, that we had another voice from a future member. I wonder if they planned to use them for major parts later on, or if it was all a coincidence.

In the English version of the manga, I saw that translated as 'Wurtz', which might be the name of a steel foundry or an arms forging company in their world. Not sure what Oda-sensei had in mind. 4:45 - "He can do anything..." I wouldn't say that just yet, but Luffy's got the potential. (If they only knew...)

Girls you're awesome! Your reaction and your opinions about the show are really authentic. I'm praising you because most of the time KZbinrs care more about promoting themselves, even in reactions. Other day I was watching a couple reacting to an episode far beyond and in the middle of a serious explanation dialogue the guy start to talk what he was feeling about that point of story and kind of combing his hair while looking at the camera. Well, the result: he completely miss the point and talked a lot of bs at the end of episode. You know what I mean? We notice when someone is not enjoying and do the stuffs by obligation. His partner was alright, but you notice when he was kind of "bossing" her through their comments. You both are different. It's notorious you're really enjoying the story.

Sanji is just so well written like i love baratie arc soooo much. The way he was saying to Zoro to give up on his dream because is something easy to do since HE DID IT for Zeff (the man that ate his leg for his sake and became his father figure) by embracing his feelings of guilt is an insane thing to write!! And its so much DEEPER than that because this isnt the first time that Sanji goes to a traumatic event. I dont want to spoil but that traumatic event CHANGED his way of viewing himself, making the baratie arc so much deeper!! I hope u get to catch up to that (its aroung episode 800 lol)

It's tough to scar your palms or underside of fingers. I once cut my palm pretty bad and needed 4 stitches, and it has a small jagged line scar but barely noticeable unless you know to look for it.. Sanji must have really cut himself good.. Cooking can be dangerous.. I saw one guy accidentally put an oyster shucker through his hand! Was crazy

I hope this isn’t spoilery, but after episode 29 we never see Ghin nor Don Krieg ever again. Both of their roles in the story ended there. After saying that I think I understand now why Don Krieg was killed in the live-action by Mihawk.

The fact that Oda allowed Kreig to be killed off in the LA as well as not even bothering to name Ghin tells me we're pretty much done with their story thread. Of all the characters that have had a "We'll meet again, don't know where don't know when" I'm probably least sad about these guys.

I know you want to only watch up to the end of arlong park so that it doesn't ruin the next season of the live action.... but trust me, you'll get there and realise it's much better to keep watching the animé and then compare it with live action when it comes out.
