That sigh of resignation when you hit your own kaizo block is priceless 🤣 I think GPW has aged very well all things considered. Going back to improve it or modernise it would ultimately detract from what it is - a product of its time and your first foray into SMW romhacks. Besides, it really doesn't need anything changing I think - it's still a great hack. As always looking forward to seeing what you do in the next one, but love these revisits and the comments regarding your ethos on level design and how it's constantly evolving. We need to remember where we came from to see where we can go next. Keep it up, Barb!

I don't use twitch at all anymore but I remember you making this hack, and providing music suggestions and ideas etc, like the turkey in the wall before the Bowser fight. You really did make this hack feel like the chat was a part of it and it was so cool being able to watch streamers play it on release.

I beat this game relatively recently, which was cool because it was the new hotness when I first became aware of smw kaizo, and I was finally able to take it on. I had a lot of fun with it. I did patch in checkpoint save however.

Hey Barb, couple of questions about this hack: Didn't one of the Yoshi levels have different music before? I could've sworn the track had changed Also, is it in vanilla that green shells let you bounce on them twice? I've never played SMW so I'm not sure Thanks for the entertainment!

23:30 I disagree, as far as swimming levels go this seems to be one of the better ones. Awesome seeing barb able to play his own hack as a player as he forgot a lot of the trolls. Dying multiple times to your own troll is the height of romhacklarity.

I still have sweet memories of watching SMW streamers playing GPW1 and GPW2. Them admiring the time and effort Barb put in those hacks and simultaneously cursing him while playing is something that still makes me laugh to this day😂
