I would only recommend that with a MUCH better pad. That one is not great for horse's spines - plus, you said it wasn't very stable & that could really irritate Wilson's hair.

That was great, your horse seems to REALLY like no bit/ no saddle now! 👏👏👏 I had many lessons (in the beginning of my lessons) with a bareback pad w/stirrups! I think it helps build balance & a good seat, but I started bareback so had good balance already. At the next school the Instructor had us jump no reins, no stirrups & that was a looong time ago! Wonder why they don't make saddle pads w/stirrups & more padding for the horse's spine? I think you should design/sell a better pad than the one you rode in, plus it would help riders start their transition or at least give them variety.

Ha! 😆 Those women were really BOSS riders. Takes so much more coordination... but really bad for a horse - to put more weight on just 1 shoulder 😢

@@paulaarizona9108- I actually saw one before. A rich, old widow (spinster?) in our town kept her horse in a carriage house, behind her home. It was a brick, Gothic monstrosity - dark & a bit scary. She had a Tennessee Walker named Big Red. Every now & then she would ride on our street. She always wore a full side saddle habit ' black, black top hat & all. Her side saddle looked draconian & I really can't imagine it being comfortable but that's the only way she ever rode.

You should invite someone to do bareback chase me charlie. We used to play sometimes after a long show week. We would jump one jump and keep raising it until only the last person would do it. Always supervised by our trainer of course but always fun.

But if they decide to "have a moment" - that makes you a better rider! I do like bareback, but some horses, it's just not possible due to high wirhers/ backbone structure. I think a bareback pad is best for the horse's comfort... & humans, too!
