When you have multiple offers that are all around the same... what Barbara doesn't understand is that sometimes it just comes down to who they would rather work with. This is obviously just a clip and not the whole episode, but she comes off as well, a shark. Where Lori pitched to them how much she believes in their product and what she could do to help them with it. She came across as having the expertise and the willingness to work for it. Barbara came off as someone who just wanted to close the deal and the money was on her mind first.

You're right and Lori's great but a lot of ppl want to work with her for QVC which I think is silly. The truth is QVC is a paid ad platform that any company can get on quite easily, it's also much more of a legacy platform with an older audience much less likely to try new innovative things. I think other sharks experience and what they offer is way better than Lori's. Her claim to fame is inventing a jewelry organizer and hosting a QVC segment so she's pretty good at spotting and demonstrating good products but that's it. Daymond is really underate imo he built a worldwide brand from litterally nothing than dealt with large scale distribution and manufacturing all over the world. What he's accomplished is much more impressive hes just not as good as marketing himself as Lori.

I think she has a much lower tolerance for failure and things not going to plan than some of the others, ofc she'll help you and put up with it for a little while but if you don't turn things around quickly you probably won't see much of her.

What Barb didn’t get was that Lori pitched her offer initially with empathy and admiration, she seems warmer. In business you should feel comfortable and Barb has no facial expression (too much Botox & surgery?) dead eyes. Loris eyes look warm and excited to work with these women.

Lori came off as really wanting to help and even said her percentage was fair cuz she was going to get really involved and work for them. She also she would get manufacturing costs down with her track record of doing that for over 1,000 products..Lori was better at explaining her role of what she'd do and overall seemed to be the more pleasant business partner.

Agreed. I definitely get why people want to hold onto as much equity as possible with their businesses, but I think it can sometimes make them not take into account just how much money a deal asking for more equity could make them. If Daymond really could get this into those hotels, then the amount of money that they could make off of that is significantly higher than anything Lori or Barbara could've offered them. Then you have the possibility of other chains around the world hearing good word of mouth about this product from AAHOA, and the money just comes pouring in. So while they may have given up more equity, they would still make significantly more money.

Don’t get me wrong I thinks it’s important to have your equity low but if a shark comes in with a deal that is on the higher end of equity but the pros outweighs the cons than go with that one. Cause sometimes a shark can offer low equity but maybe won’t scale the business as big as the other shark.
