@dphotos0072 жыл бұрын
I viewed the furniture at a PopUp here in Los Angeles and the furniture is way way over priced. The PopUp was in an outdoor area where people could eat their lunch on the furniture and near the shops and food places. So there were real world food stains. What you see there the couch and chair sells for over $5000. The furniture is built very light and the fabric had a ton of food stains. I strongly believe because of the Shark Lori they are over priced. The seating was not comfortable. The cushions had little support so they are using less foam or a cheaper foam. I am 5’9” 160 and I sunk to the bottom of the cushions. Their cover idea is a gimmick. When it rains the cushions will still get wet and if the wind blows they will get dusty. A full furniture cover is needed. At their PopUp store I waited close to an hour and no employee showed up to answer my questions. There was supposed to be someone working there and I went at 12:45PM which is prime time for customers to see the product. I wanted them to show me them getting the food stains out and I wanted them to show me the foam inside the cushions. This company has no brick and mortar store. It’s all online with a few PopUps. They have no middleman. They are priced high so that Shark can get paid, the two partners and the family. I like the designed but again I was turned off by the quality. All the ads you see on Facebook their customer gets a discount if they show a submitted home video clip and they are not going to show an ad with a unhappy customer. Some of those ads show the back cushions being a mess because of the foam they use. I am just giving you my opinion viewing the furniture and testing it out for the first time, I had no bias. In fact I knew they were pricey but I really wanted to see it in person before spending that kind of money and I was happy they had a PopUp by the beach. I am so happy I took a pass and I did not buy.

I don't get these deals. Lori per example, with a loan, assumes 0 risk and it's a way for her to say I'm not willing to risk it. She gets all her money back and gets 5%? Why not get a straight loan instead of giving equity. Terrible deal

Real innovation would be comfortable cushions that don’t have to be taken inside and are weather resistant. This requires people to 1) to place covers every night 2) take them inside when there’s possibility of rain.

That deal is horrible. They basically have to pay back 750k with interest and additional have to pay royalties worth 1m on top of that. So Lori gets 1m + interest from the 750k + 5% in the company

It isn't covering the sides of the cushions. The dew will roll off the top and the sides will be moist. It is a great idea just needs some tweaks and I would only buy the cusions. We like to make our out door furniture out of scrap wood.

Turns out the deal did not go through with Lori after the show. However, shortly after the Shark Tank episode aired, their sales skyrocketed to an annual revenue of $45 million. But that's not the crazy part. They soon after completed a series B funding round where they received a post money valuation of $450 million. This makes the value they were asking for on Shark Tank ($18.75 million) look like peanuts. These 2 Chinese guys are truly hitting it out of the park. Expecting this to become a unicorn company worth a $1 billion soon.

@@BanlieueBaby Because either the shark gets cold feet and realizes they don't want to offer the money anymore, or they find out something about the company that wasn't accurately discussed during the pitch, OR the entrepreneur ends up deciding that the deal that they were offered is actually not good enough and decides to back out.
