The issues were poor brushing, not brushing for the appropriate amount of time and the brush heads being super small. My bristles are a combination of soft and medium. Non abrasive and actually massages gums. Helps with gum recession!

There is absolutely a reason for having a small brush head - to get into all the small spaces at the back of your mouth. Also dentists recommend brushing each tooth individually and at an angle to get up under between the gum and the tooth. This brush would not be able to do any of those things
