I have a similar booth, all I did to modify was tape up the small gaps on the sides and seal the back hose mount to avoid air leaks. All in all, I am very pleased with the booth as I live in a very small apartment in Japan this is great size for me.

@@fragglerocker8316 It definitely won't bother your neighbors. Besides, it'll almost definitely be quieter than your compressor, so that'd be your main issue.

Another fine review. I have a booth that I built years ago, had to replace my fan awhile back. This booth is cheaper than the fan I bought. I may order one as a backup if my fan goes out again. Toss the whole booth and switch to this. Might as well get it now, it ain't going to get cheaper.

Not living in the US. But I have a shipping address in Delaware ;) I have used this for many years as there are some companies that don't send to Europe or their shipping is way too high. For that box shipped by air from US to Norway would be 15-20$. Using Jetcarrier services. I do however understand that you're not going check with everyone. Have a good time painting! :)

With the candle test I think incense would work better since it's always smoking it'll be easier to move it around and get a good idea of maximum distance from fans it would work and where the sweet spot of a spray booth is.

I’m in the UK, and I put a spray booth together for around £40, which is probably around $45. I simply picked up a used cooker hood from a kitchen refurb locally for £20, then some pieces of plywood to create box sides, then used a cake stand. The vent at the rear of the cooker is four inches, so I used tumble dryer flexible hose to vent through a window. I don’t know how suitable a cooker hood in the US would be, but the type I have here works for me.

I'm looking at this as a replacement for a shoddily made DIY booth, would this booth be able to handle spray primers? For my 3d printed TT terrain, I need to use an automotive filler primer to hide the layer lines, and I'd like to not be forced to wait for a nice day to prime my terrain. edit: speaking with the expectation to use the extractor to vent the gasses out the window

@somechinesedude5466 Жыл бұрын
If you can't vent the particle outside, buy some sort of container, fill it with water & point the fan pipe into it with cardboard & duct tape, with some cutting That way the dust collect on the water & you can just open a window to dissuade the thinner smell Please use 3m 6200 mask with 6001 filter during spray painting regardless of a working spraybooth or not

One big warning with cheap Chinese spray booths: Only use them with water-based paints. A *lot* of these aren't properly grounded and have exposed copper in the wiring. If you're painting with lacquers or other flammable paints you're basically aerosolizing fuel and compressing it with a ton of air in a metal box. One spark from shoddy wiring or static build up because the case isn't grounded....and that's basically how an internal combustion engine works.

Hey! I'm super new to all this. I'll only be using water based acrylics on my airbrush. What's the purpose of the fans? I'd be using this in a garage where I have no option to stick the hose outside. What should I do with the hose? Or can I just construct my own booth with cardboard (no fans)?? Also, if I use the booth with fans, do I still need to wear the respirator? Thank you!!

3€ for filter roll; 5€ (or even for free from old PC/psu) for a 20cm or even 24cm (12 or 24v) fan; 4€ psu 24v for the fans; a box (2€ plastic box or even a cardboard box for free); 3€ for 1m (so maybe 2m for 6€ is the better choice) of tube/exhaust system. Leds are optional but 5€ for chinese strip led +psu. 100€ for that thing? Never in my life! I prefer the DIY version for 15-25€.

I just got into the hobby and got one of these, it works but boy it’s loud! I just listen to videos with my noise cancelling headphones on. My issue was that although it comes with fans one in front of the other, only ones facing you in the booth turn, it’s odd. The other issue was that I did not find out till later that the hose connection had a gap in it so spray dust was leaking out there, nothing that some Vaseline didn’t fix though!

Another great video, I have based on your advice a air booth, duse the job, even got base coating perfectly, all from watching how you air bush, love models, cars, planes, trains & warhammer 40k, I have the hard job of painting but worthwhile and I enjoy making and painting so relaxing, looking for a good chrome like green, and I'm starting painting again after 7years of not doing so, like riding a bike, got help from your videos, I have really enjoyed watching your videos on the different parts of air bushing. Using a cheap air bush while I'm still getting used to air bushing, the booth is similar to my single fan, making a fumes Box as live in a studio flat, I'm also in to 3D printing both resing & filament, have both to make models to paint, I love metallic green, but I'm looking at some you have shown in other videos, which works out the green metallic colour I good and works well with my necrons, amazing 👏🏼 videos you make
