OK, Rex, I'm gonna turn stuff around on you. Sort of. Since you mentioned the curvature of that spoon, let me mention that I just received a model kit of the Speed Racer Mach 5. I bought it specifically because the body has so much curviness to it, and I thought it would make for a great way to show off some kind of pearl or candy or whatever. So, YOU get to pick the paint color, and it has to be one of your Mecha Empire colors. Since I have your BR airbrush, using your paint will keep the cosmos aligned. Whaddya think?

Said this in the last one but I have had a couple months of testing different acrylic primers and I still don't prefer them but vallejo primer seems to be the easiest to use and get consistent results

There are a lot of Xabungle kits being released by Hasegawa and Moderoid these days and Bandai also released a lot of them back in tbe day. You can find many on second hand sites from Japan still now and places like Hobby Link Japan sell the current ones when they are in print. Also that big red Jar is actually another Anime color for Space Runaway Ideon. Which I think maybe Moderoid has a current kit of it. Can't recall for sure. The BR paints are indeed for the Brave series like GaioGaiGar. Which also has recent kits released for them by Moderoid and Bandai as well as tons of old school ones and garage kits.

12:40 The Detail Metal Color from what I have seen is a medium value (as in not bright silver nor dark gunmetal, but in the middle) metallic grey with a slight cool tint to it. Quite a nice color.

If you want a good cleaner for airbrush get a spray bottle of Goof off marks ,messes&stains Remover it's in a yellow spray bottle it a 22oz bottle I have been using it for many years it will clean up about any paint on the market get a old round paint brush a 1 spray in a sink and clean the Air brush bowl out super easy or get some hardware store Lacquer thinner it won't hurt your airbrush. But I use both every day you don't need super hot water keep it simple.

Need to be careful with Lacquer Thinners, some will eat up the Rubber O-rings and Teflon Seals. Mr. Leveling Thinner is one of one's I used with no problems.

I use their acrylic polyurethane surface primer , old range, I don't have any issues with it providing I prep what I'm spraying, thin coats tend to rub on corners but otherwise it lays great , I've also sanded it with no issues but I've only used 500 dry the other times I wet sand with 800-2500 grit ,bit does need plenty of drying time if you are going to sand. I usually do a 50/50 with their own brand thinner (Vallejo)

I wanted to get into air brushing, but trying to piece together the bits n pieces with also picking out(hmmm) non-pos crap from off amazon. which is why one of the reasons I am really interested with starting with the swallowtail. I have a pancake compressor and also I have a 4x4x6(Old grow tent) tent to spray in. I Would goto a hobby shop to help figure this rabbit hole out of the little bits needed, But i am 100% service connected fully permanently disabled Vet. and i don't have a way of leaving my driveway other then appointments.

Those are Gundam Converge minis. They come pre painted you just snap them together. I got some of them at a local Hobby Lobby

I used to use their black primer as brush-on primer and I could literally slop it on and let it pool without worrying. The new kind doesnt do that at all. Now I have a whole batch of heads ruined because their new formula doesnt shrink down to an even flat surface anymore.

To many paints. Hard to figure out what to use. I know Mr tool airbrush cleaner and Mr hobby leveling thinner is getting scarce. Any one have replacement suggestions I use Mcw enamils.

I don't get the same results like you do with Vallejo paint. The primer is fragile and the paint stays a little bit sticky even after 24h of drying. Am I doing something wrong?

​@barbatosrex9473 I have three bottles of Vallejo primer. White, grey and black in 60ml bottles. On the bottle of the grey primer it says Acrylic polyurethane surface primer with a number: 73.615. On the black and white bottle it says only primer. The black one has number 73.602 and the white has number 73.600

For the record, Vallejo makes the worst primer on the market. The reason I tested these is because it says new formula. But the standard primers by Vallejo, the ones you have, are reguarded as the worst in the hobby world. You should consider Stynylrez Primers if you must use an acrylic, those are among the best out there

@barbatosrex9473 The primer from Vallejo you used is better then the ones I have? I have a couple of Vallejo paints and the only positive thing about Vallejo airbrush paint are the bottles. The paint always stays sticky and is absolutely not scratch resistant. Regret buying paint from Vallejo. I also have some paint from Mr Hobby but it's always a fight to get them open. Have to place the cap under hot water to open it. Also getting paint into the airbrush isn't as convenient as Vallejo. I want to keep using acrylic paints.

I really don't get why primers don't work for me on my warhammer models from an airbrush. I've tried pro acryl and the regular vallejo and both had really poor adhesion. My last test was with the mobius 0.3mm airbrush and the pro acryl primers and absolutely no additives. Just primer through the airbrush at 25psi. It came off with no effort. I use rattle can rustoleum 2x flat grey primer or flat black primer, not the paint/primer mix just primer, and I have zero issues. It's really annoying so I just gave up on airbrush primers. I've even had to strip models so they've sat in simple green and then been scrubbed clean with a toothbrush under warm water in the sink.

The bug difference is Rust-Oleum is a solvent and Vallejo & ProAcryl is an acrylic. You're going to get superior results with a solvent based primer. Have you tried Mr Surfacer? It's the best

Hey Barbatos, awesome video. I tried out the new Vallejo Primer White and Black on my warhammer model like in your video. I left it 24hours to cure - I find it easy to scratch off edges with my fingernail. I did wash the model with warm soapy water. Any suggestions on how I could resolve this?

There's many different plastic types out there and they all effect paint in different ways. Wherever your having troubles with it coming off try going over those areas with a fine sandpaper. That will give the primer a better grip

In Japan they have kits that are only available in Japan and the same for China I have many kits and military kits that has stickers on the boxes that are not for import some will have sticker Japan only or only in Japan .and supplies man they have a model tool and supplies dollar store over there. Everything is a dollar. And the paints business is crazy some Clubs have models colors custom made brands that are not Registered on scale mates. If you are a serious model builder you need to go to Japan at least once in your life. I am very Fortunate to be able to travel and live all over Asia because of the hobby.

@@barbatosrex9473 it came 2 days ago and was an early xmas gift. all i can say its absolutly fantastic. i use rainez and it worked great. i thought at 1st i thought it was not deep enough but once using it that is no issue at all. the fans draw in massive amounts of air so all overspray go direcltly to waterfall area. thanks for your great video and i really appreciate it.
