Mate when in snag put rod back on rod rest and wait fella she will pull back out also try a shorter hair rig.big river barbell dumbbell 14 mm with the same groundbait as the oil feeder mix I guarantee you a barbel also sg1 works a treat

Ye man i literally tried that i put the rod down for a while and nothing i was using the same flavoured dumbell as the ground bait in the end river big fish busters shrimp and krill, i appreciate all and any advice 👍👍 i will try again i will catch a barbel one day!! 🎣

Bit of advice. Get that rod nice and high when striking into them. Use heavier gear and bully them out. Looks a cracking spot that mate, free stretch? I’m only in Harrogate

Bit snaggy mate innit.. Weirpools are often bad for snaggery, rocks n shit. There could be a wall underwater out there or summat. As a rule barbel arent too bad for snagging you unless it's really bad out there.
