I really loved Barbie! I absolutely love that it appeals to an older audience and they didn't just try to pander to children, and not only that, but that it has great messages for men too. All the people calling the movie sexist and whatever have completely missed the mark and the message flew over their head. I went to the premiere with 5 friends, 2 being girls and 3 being guys, and the guys absolutely adored the movie. We all love Ken and none of them ever said that the movie was sexist, and that it was actually really funny and eye opening for certain things. Also, bring back FYI please

I would love a Beetleborgs movie. Also Flabber isn't a bad guy he's a phantasm that gives the kids magical powers and grants their wish to become their favourite comic book characters the Beetleborgs because they freed him from a Pipe Organ he was for some reason trapped in. He lives with all the famous classic movie monsters as well and I guess they couldn't help him get out of it. They did the same thing Beast Wars did with Transmetals but called it Metallix because everything had to be shiny and Metallic. It was weird but great.

I loved the Barbie movie. I'm pretty sure they do say almost word for word "girls don't have to just be mothers now" but they don't mean girls shouldn't or won't want to have kids someday. They can just be more than that and aspire to more. Unlike in say the 20s, where being a wife and mother was your only value. Anyone who thinks Ken is the villain missed the end of the movie. Barbie hugs him and tells him she cares about him, just not romantically. I think it was a missed opportunity to make even one of the kens (canonically) gay, but it was controversial enough without ~the gay agenda~. I hope movie makers are enlightened by Barbie's success and give women in fiction and real life more attention.

The Barbie movie left me terribly existential. Unfortunately the movie focused so much on Ken, despite him not being the protagonist or what I believe should've been the main focus. But Barbie herself was such a tragic character. Like literally by definition she hit all the characteristics of a tragic hero. I haven't seen a lot of people mentioning this but for most of the movie we see her either crying or absolutely distraught, as her entire reality collapses. At no point in the movie is she ever really happy (besides the very beginning) and she doesn't even get a happy ending... Overall the events that transpired were devastating for her. All the while Ken was having the time of his life, finding out about the patriarchy, celebrating with his bros and making Barbie world his own. Something about the contrast between the two of them just majorly fucked me up. The contrast between the fun, pink, plastic toy aesthetic and the deeply depressing truths that Barbie suddenly has to face, also messed with me. I don't know. Maybe because I'm a woman it all just hit too close to home. And the fact that all the discussion surrounding this movie is all about Ken is also very telling... I feel like even most people who understood the overall message of the movie still missed a significant part of it. Barbie was suffering while we were all too distracted enjoying Ken's shenanigans. Barbie "took the red pill" and realized how horrible reality is (and by extent also how barbie world was bad) while Ken did the exact opposite and made a reality that suits and favors him while hurting others. It was just so depressing to watch. Excellent movie overall, clever and full of different interpretations and layers. Wish it wasn't made by Mattel so they could actually criticize them more. Also wish it wasn't so heteronormative lol Oppenheimer was meh, got way more hype than it deserved

I wish people could just turn off the political part of their brain when watching movies. If you’re so obsessed with politics that you make everything about it, then you need to take a break from the internet. Go outside, meet people and chill out. It’s not that deep bro, and even if it was, it’s not that serious. Just ignore it and let it go.

Oppenheimer needed to be slow. I think if it didnt take this long -- the effect of the ending wouldn't be as powerful to the mind. It took its time, but when it finished -- it went out with a bang! Barbie was just yet another woke movie. Nothing new under the sun at this point. I will praise it for actually having some semblance of a story, but other than that -- below average. I'm kinda upset not because I'm a man, but because I love cinema and film and I always get the feeling of dissapointment when I see that this agenda spamming isnt stopping. I might be called eccentric, but I just prefer movies who show values that come through mainly the storytelling and not entirely based on the outisde world's political agendas. We can argue all we want, but everyone knows the reason why this exist and why they do the remakes of specifically children movies -- way easier to influence a child's mind. If this wasn't the case -- then they would have made remakes of movies that actually haven't stood the test of time visually or if someone wants to retell a different version of the story. Not the same story but with the woke stuff. I did laugh at a couple of the jokes. For me at the start of the movie where Barbie wanted to be unalive was absolutely unexpected and hillarious. How can you say this movies isnt supposed to be taken seriously, but you guys take it seriously enough to react to others who took it seriously and gave a 20-30 minute explanation why. Anyways... Whatever... At this point, Im opinion spamming and no one has the attention span to read all of this, the same way people didnt have the patience to watch Oppenheimer and thought it dragged out. Just an opinion -- if they concentrated their power on making a good movie that actually has a good story and teaches mainly the so-called woke values through the movie itself, I'll probably like it. Instead of shoving their agenda and expecting people to like it just because. That's not how this works. Overrall both movies had their moments. I enjoyed one more than the other. I just hope people will stop making woke and superhero movies. Just getting tired of them.
