And some barbershop quartets may even start in high school if the school did "The Music Man", and stay together for awhile. My husband was in a barbershop quartet (he sang bass) that got started during his junior year when his school did that show, and were together for a few years. I remember he and his quartet performed at our rehearsal dinner, and I think that was their last gig before going their separate ways.

Disappointing. Women's international competition was also in Las Vegas but they couldn't be bothered including that. Sexist reporting. Thumbs down.

Having just come from our (I'm a Sweet Adeline's chorus director.) amazing Regional Convention, and knowing what a profound experience women singing barbershop together can be, it is so disappointing that the world of women's barbershop only received the smallest nod in this story. It appears that they only had footage from the BHS 2017 International to work with, but still, a huge and amazing part of the modern barbershop story was practically left out completely! :-/

Thank you for this. Sadly Barbershop is not the same with women's voices. When you get 4 male voices in perfect harmony you can hear overtones - notes no one is singing but are there. It's pretty amazing to hear.
