I've found one of my mom's old barbie of Christie from 1987, my mom gave it to me. It's still in great condition(I washed the clothes, cut of the damaged hair of the doll etc)

This is great. I'm from Ukraine. And Unfortunately, neither my mother nor me had no original Barbie dolls. It was very difficult to get them. However, my friend had a pregnant Midge as a child. Her parents brought her from Australia. These were wonderful dolls.

I played a lot with my Christie dolls way more than my Barbie’s. In 2018 I got my hands on Picture Pockets Christie. Wish Mattel discontinued Nikki and brought Christie back.

Yes, I agree, but so will Nikki too. For example, my daughter only knows and loves Nikki. Although in the history of Barbie, there were other African American Barbie dolls. Hello - When Christie morphed into Nikki she actually assumed the Desrae mold, to be followed by another briefly featured and discontinued as a Fashion Fever edition before the present Fashionista Nikki with the ethnic-accurate hair that our AA collectors insist she should sport. Happy collecting.

Nikki only started using the Desinree face mold in 2009 in the Fashionista line in which Nikki was the Artsy style. When Nikki replaced Christie in 2006 she continued using the Asha pattern that Christie had worn since the late 90s. All playline Nikki dolls and AA dolls from 2006-2008 used the Asha mold. in 2009 Nikki acted in the film The Three Musketeers in which she plays Renne, Renne's doll used the Asha facial mold, but all the other Nikki and AA dolls from 2009 used the Desinree mold! From 2009-2014 all Nikki and AA playline dolls used the Desinree mold. However, in the fateful year of 2015, Mattel decided that all of its Barbie dolls would be the character Barbies, which meant that all of Barbie's friends no longer existed in the lines. in 2018, in the Dreamhouse Adventures series, Mattel realized that NOBODY would like to see a series with a bunch of Barbie's and revived some of Barbie's friends to participate in the Series. In the 2018 Dreamhouse Adventures Series doll line, Nikki got her own facemold.

Yes, that is how the development took place, which is always interesting, and as one knows from personal experience since one has all these figures and the DVDs, too. Just wondering about the new Christie in the gown inspired by her original bathing suit with her first appearance in the line when she made history. U messed all the 80's years up because Barbie and the Beat it's a line from 1988 as well Barbie and the All Stars is from 1989, then the Picture Pocket line is from 1998 and u missed the Sit in Style line from 1999. Btw great video! 👏🏻
