Yea Barbosa truly became legendary in my opinion when he gave his life so his daughter could live. The many things disney has ruined, I am so thankful they gave the captain the closure and finish he deserved

Hector Barbossa is my favorite character in this series, I just love how cunning and intelligent he always was only bested by the trickster of Jack Sparrow, I love his rivalry with Jack and eventual friendship and his story from the Curse of the Black Pearl to Dead Men Tell No Tales, was always the most consistence story in the saga, he is what I truly define as the most pure PIRATE in the entire film series, from his very traditional Pirate speech to his cunning plans, Hector was always a delight to watch, and a villain with an actual moral code that he can bend to his will at times but always show the respect to even his deadly foes, this character was just damn AWESOME.

Thanks for including Geoffrey's vision about his role as Barbossa. I love how he described his origins; running away at a young age, a background of poverty, and wanting to become a man of the sea. Even if I couldn't finish watching the 5th movie ( I despise the writing, and don't consider it canon ), I like that they kind of respected this vision that Geoffrey described in that interview. Barbossa wanted to lift the curse, have a beautiful bride, and live happily ever after as a rich rogue. Beloved captain Barbossa, you were the best lord pirate.

It was just Beautiful when Barbossa Sacrificed himself when he barely knew his Daughter, he's come a long way from being Full-on Villain into an Anti-Hero who Deeply Cared about People he Loved. I just love how it Humanises Pirates and Treats them as human, and this video is a Brilliant Example of it.

Barbossa definitely has the most dynamic character arc, going from a full out villain to a hero over the span of 5 movies. He's my favorite character in Pirates and his journey is always fun to watch

1:10 I feel like Pirates 5 did two things *very* well - ending Barbossa's and the Turner family's story arcs. Barbossa sacrificed himself for those he loved, and Will was freed from the Dutchman, having served in his duty/self-imposed self-sacrifice. Otherwise, the movie was trash lol

I agree with you on Barbossa, but Will Turner’s ending wasn’t satisfying in my opinion. His duty was to bring dead to the afterlife. Thus who will do it now if he isn’t there anymore ? And why is Turner filled with shells while this happened to Davy Jones only because he didn’t fulfill his role of driving the dead to the afterlife ?

Looks like Will decided to keep the Dutchman, considering how lifting the curse apparently fixed the rotting ship overgrown by barnacles. A classical East Indiaman was maybe a bit outdated at that time, especially if lifting the curse broke the magical gatling bow chasers, but other than that it looked very fancy.

The Hector and Karina aspect is the only part of Pirates 5 worth watching. Just ignore that she should be 30 in this film if Jack knew Margaret when Hector was his first mate.

This was an Incredible Masterpiece for Captain Hector Barbosa My Second Favorite Character and Antagonist’s in The Pirates of The Caribbean Franchise. Geoffrey Rush was Perfectly Casted to bring this Pirate Former Villain Turned Pirate Hero.

I like to imagine, having taken the name Barbosa as a moniker, his daughter becomes an adventurous explorer. Appearing as a pirate by her sense of style, but a gentlewoman because of her nature. A bit of a Robin Hood of the seas. More as a hero that the law misunderstands, and a rebel more evil pirates disagree with. A wandering hero if you will.

Having a redeemed villain is never a bad thing. Disney nowadays just use it as a way for the so called misunderstood villains such as Wanda who enslaved the entire town and doesn't suffer any consequences for that. Like rocket said: "Everyone has dead people. It's no excuse along the way,"
