Barbour bedale: A new owners thoughts

I have a Bedale and two Beauforts. I like the look of the Bedale best but the Beaufort has become my go to jacket. I wear the Beaufort 90% of the time. I like that the Beaufort is a little longer and the sleeves are not gusseted so slipping it on and off is easier. The zip in liner (the plush liner not the quilted) will make your jacket comfortable in temperatures down into the 20s. I like using the game pocket on the back of the Beaufort to keep my scarf in, the Bedale doesn't have that pocket since it is a riding jacket not a hunting jacket. I don't have a hood for either jacket and, to be honest, really don't want one. I have read mixed reviews on the hood and I prefer wearing a wide brim hat if it is raining over using a hood. The hat keeps the water off of my face and lets it drip off well behind my collar in back. I can also see much better with the hat as opposed to a hood.

If you want to layer go 40

@vaxid5940 they are a lil wide but the elastic ribbed cuffs make it wear nicely

Got mine 2 months ago , it's very roomy I am 1,70cm ordered in size 40.

i could of went 38 but i wanted room for the liner and to layer under it as well. how do you like yours?

I wouldn't bother with the zip in lining. The zip is only 3/4 of the way. Making it a faff to get your arms in the arm holes. The hood is a better bet. But I would say the best accessory for your jacket from barbours would be the silk scarf.
