Absolutely gorgeous Betta and love the tank. Not sure if you cycled the tank or not but if not you’ll need to do a lot of water changes till it cycles. Before breeding please do a lot of research. As someone who has bred it’s expensive and a lot of work. Bettas are not easy to breed or keep as they grow up. It requires a lot of time and dedication. Congratulations on the growth of your channel, with it comes responsibility of giving the best advice and recommendations you can.

I am a Malaysian betta breeder.as a advice dont care about what people say about breeding Betta.actually you can breed easily.even is it Petco or quality breeder.the most important thing you should concern about is that the food for the fry.betta fry only eat live food.i recommend you to feed the fry bbs or daphnia.after a month stop feeding bbs.and introduce chopped frozen bloodworms until 2 months.around you can feed them pellets.second water need to be clean 2 times a week.feed just twice a day and not more than that.jar the fry when they are old enough.breeding Betta is cheap and easy.go check Dexters channel for easy breeding.Kasia and Simply Betta are also good betta breeders

For breeding, I recommend even a 20 gallon tank or also what you could do for SO MUCH CHEAPER is get a tote thing that is long and flat and is half the price of a 10 gallon tank and is so much bigger. Much more room to move around and the fry can find more places to hide provided there is plants. Hope this helped for future projects have a good one
@bettaliferainbow23226 жыл бұрын
I think your betta needs a hidingplace, that's just my opinion. When one of my bettas didn't have a hiding place he bit his tail and his tail was very bad looking so I recommend putting a hidingplace in there.
@ceatonbusch6 жыл бұрын
You should use that bigger tank as a Betta sorority and keep 5-8 females after breeding! The males are perfect in 5 gallons because it gives then room, but doesn't tire them out. They are tough fish, and the females may fight, but they have to in order to set up a rank between them and to be able to take over their own territory. I just think Bettas are so interesting and I love watching videos about them!! It encouraged me to start my own tanks and I'm excited to do more!

@meggrotte47606 жыл бұрын
I actually have a baby beta and right now she's in a half gallon tank but when she gets bigger I will upgrade her tank to a bigger one she's absolutely adorable. Sadly in Taiwan they don't have large acrylic tanks so I actually had to create my tanks out of large critter keepers. That's the equivalent of 3 and 1/2 gallons. My filters are set up with an air pump that goes into a tank and it filter but the flow of the filter is not low so I had to set rocks on top of it to create a low-flow setting. In Taiwan all the pet stores tell you the same thing betta's don't need a large environment they don't need a filter to keep the water clean they don't need an air pump all they need is a daily water change 100%. that's exactly how far of my bettas died. They died because they developed fin rot because they didn't have a filter even though the water was in a larger container. And there heaters for betta's oh my God they're annoying I can't get the heater to work because the heater has a sensor to regulate with the temperature in the room and in the tank I can't get something that I can just plug in and it heats the tank that's all I cannot find it. so at best I can only hope that my water is okay for my fish I believe that's what's causing the fin rot because I can't keep the water a certain temperature everything else is fine. I cycled my all of my tanks and I put in gravel as well as plants well really just one plant in each tank and a place for them to hide yeah. so tomorrow I'm going to the pet store to go and get antibiotics for my fish who does have the beginning stages of fin rot and I will be treating all of my fish so I can prevent them from having fin rot in dying because it's the only problem I have with fish at least with betta's. another guy told me I needed to do a 20% water change once a week and then at the end of the month clean out everything but make sure that I don't touch the filter sponge because it has good bacteria and I've got all the proper chemicals all everything that was needed I have. I know it's causing the fin rot the Fisher coming in sick I think what happens is they arrive healthy from the places that raise them but then when they get into the pet stores they don't take care of them well they're not put in large containers they're not given medication as a pre-emptive strike to get fish diseases they really just don't care they stick them in a cup that's like a very tiny drinking cup and they put a lid on it I can't tell you how many fish I found that were dead in the store
@meggrotte47606 жыл бұрын

That’s a great upgrade but I only have one concern..... that current may be a little strong. One thing you could do is put a filter sponge in front of the outflow. But anyway it’s definitely better than the other one. Oh and I think you have it a little backwards. In the wild the females take up more territory. They swim to find a male while the males wait for the ladies to come to them. But I still support any moves you make. I love your videos!!

Also I feed my baby’s live baby brine shrimp and when they are about a month to two months old I start feeding them frozen cyclops. Just a suggestion for the heater you do not have to do what I advise. Have fun with your fish!!

I am a betta keeper and a way to save money and create a better environment for your bettas is buy cheaper tanks that are larger. You will save money and get more for your money. You could also have a nano betta community tank. Often times bettas do well with the following fish. Guppies, mollies, platys,Amano shrimp, and many other types of fish. It can also help with aggression in males during breeding being around other fish.

You got a great tank, but I would recommend getting one that is wider than it is tall. Betta's can have troubles swimming to the top of a tank when they have large fin's. So it may be best to but the female in that tank and get a different one for the male, or even put a betta leaf in the tank.

I'm all for your attempt to breed bettas. I thoroughly enjoyed it back when I did it but it was a lot of cleaning tanks and jars. Don't rush it too much. Take the time to get the fish ready(lots of nutritious, live foods) and to make sure you have what you need(large tank for the actual spawn, start with it shallow so the male has less work and add more water to fill it up as the fry to grow, sponge filters, a microworm culture or some other form of live food small enough for the fry. A way to heat the potential 100+ jarred fish.

Hey! So glad your upgrading the tank! For the future a cheaper way to getting space for Bettas might be getting a 10 gallon and dividing it! 10 gallons are usually similarly priced to a 5 gallon and a divider means that two Bettas would be able to fit fine each with 5 gallons of space! No need to do it just some cheaper ways of going about this! (Lifewithpets has amazing dividers) (Also not getting a kit and just getting and heater and sponge filters might even work too!) but great job listening to the comments! Good luck!

Erin Lynn Thats such a great idea! Its like a 2 for 1! Im definitely going to look into it! Thank you for the support!👍🏻
@petcraz24176 жыл бұрын
Barbs Buzzin, you can find really good dividers from Life With Pets (another KZbin channel). I have 4 really like the them!
@AwesomeGamerx-mm3ql6 жыл бұрын
Doing that isn't as a great as an idea as it seems. One being that the bettas still release hormones, pheromones and such into the water, making the bettas able to sense eachother and therefore stressing each of them out. Another reason is that if the bettas decide to jump over and get through the divider, you'll end up with a dead/severely injured betta. Then lastly, if you have a female on one side and a male on the other, the female can actually become egg-bound due to the male. Much better to stick with separate tanks.
@aussiejjdude30666 жыл бұрын
Never had problems with a divided tank if done correctly. Hormones will not be released, and the pheromones will not be an issue. The only time they will be stressed if they can see eachother and are constantly flaring. otherwise, they will do fine. Females can become egg-bound regardless of being in a divided tank or not.
@AwesomeGamerx-mm3ql6 жыл бұрын
Hormones and pheromones are an issue, it can easily stress another betta out in a divided tank. Yes, seeing each other will stress them out, but fish release hormones and pheromones into the water, the bettas will be able to sense each other and get stressed because of it. I am aware that females can become egg-bound regardless of a divided tank or not, but the fact is that it increases the chances due to other hormones being released from the male.
@PikaRaichupikapika6 жыл бұрын
Here's a tip: You're gonna need a 20-30 gallon tank with 80-82 degrees F in both the breeding tank and fry tank and in the fry tank you will need a couple sponge filters and a heater. The first week or so they will need tubflex worms you can look up how to start your own culture. After the first week or two, you can start feeding them baby brine shrimp or BBS for short. Once they get two months old you will have to get a lot of jars for them or plastic bags if you are donating them to Petco.

You cannot plant java fern or any plant with a rhizome into the substrate. The roots can go in, however the rhizome must stay above the substrate or else it can rot causing the plant to die. Many people tie rhizome plants to rocks, wood etc. to make sure they do not float up to the surface.
