It wasn't a great Bayern performance inspite of the score. Lewandowski got an assist but left the pitch angry. Bayern was a bit chaotic in the 1st half and in the second Barca had too much possession. Davies was ok but he wasn't playing at his top level. The honest truth is that Barca are probably not going to be playing in Europe at all next season. They were knocked out of the UCL with ease, the Europa League is filled with teams they can't beat (eg Betis), and it's fairly unlikely that they'll scratch together enough points to scrape into the top 6 in Spain. Barca need to jettison dead weight and salary during the summer. Coutinho, Dembele, and Umtiti at LEAST need to go, and if I'm the Barca brass, I get rid of Aguero, Pique, Memphis, Puig, Braithwaite, and Luuk de Jong as well. This team needs to be built from the ground up around Fati (hopefully he can stay healthy), Pedri, and Gavi, and they need to build through investment in the youth system like they used to. Honestly, I see the Barca rebuild as a 5 year project at the very least, but the issues aren't just about a lack of talent. There's also no money, and no soul at the club any more. Their heart, soul, and identity wears #30 for PSG now, and he's not coming back. If I'm being completely pragmatic, Barca won't be a truly competitive side in Europe again for nearly a decade. There are simply too many issues that need to be addressed, and not enough competent people at the club to address them. I think they'll get back into the Europa League after next season, but I don't think we're going to see them again in the UCL for a long time.

The worst thing about this result is the fact that Bayern did not even play the game at the peak of their powers, yet Barca still lost 0-3 while also being dominated in all aspects. Imagine if Bayern were at their best and had Kimmich and Goretzka playing - the result could have been worse than the 2-8 drubbing they suffered 2 seasons ago. This is indeed the extent to which Barcelona has fallen, all due to years of severe mismanagement under the Bartomeu regime - Messi was papering their cracks throughout prior to his departure. It is going to take quite a while (maybe even more than 5 years, I am afraid, although I hope I can be proven wrong) before they can finally challenge for the UCL again.
