A BATMAN fanatic has forged a living building original 1966 BATMOBILE replicas. Mark Racop, 50, has been obsessed with the car since childhood and spent $250,000 researching and building moulds for the recreations. He and his team of ten staff at his shop, Fiberglass Freaks, work six days every week building the cars from the original television series. Mark said: “The 1966 Batmobile was very special to me because it was such an iconic design."

That’s a whole lot of painfull work and does not pay off later in life and later you don’t love all the chemicals arthritis etc from creating cars ! I’m a mechanic and later on it starts getting to be very horrible on your body

I'm 66 and I've still got my 1966 Corgi Batmobile. It's still in good condition. Along with my Matchbox and Hot Wheels collections. These Fiberglass Freaks cars are just incredible down to the smallest detail.

I remember the batomobile coming to our local car dealership, KJ Motors in Orpington in the 60's. It was one of the fiberglass versions. The place was overwhelmed with kids. The organisers just didn't know what to do. I can remember them repeatedly calling over the PA "Children please keep off the batmobile". Needless to say no one took any notice. I just loved the car. Those perfect lines and colours are burnt into the mind of every kid of that era

I saw the original Batmobile with my Father in SF at their annual car show in 66? 67?, something like that and I stood there as a kid of 10 looking at that as much as the Astin Martin used in the Goldfinger. I'm 3D printings a high detailed 1.6 scale of it just now all resin printed 12k and 8k parts its beautiful i also have the most highly accurate adam west and bust ward cad designs that ive printed in 1.6 to go with it for the ultimate diorama! Things going to be massive!
