That is such a horrible disease. So cruel. But I'm glad they are handling it the way they are they are STRONG individuals. Makes things alot of people complain about seem very trivial. Hope that clinical trial medicine works and they can get a little relief.

Our country needs to make sure that there is funding for people with conditions such as this because they clearly cannot work and they need the care. All the time I hear people saying they are supporting life, but they turn their backs on people with disabilities because they are already born.. we need to do a lot better in the USA.

I was born with a physical disability and use a manual wheelchair to get around. I struggle with anxiety, depression and agoraphobia issues that is not directly related to my being born disabled. I absolutely admire everyone interviewed in this video and it really helped put things in perspective for me. I’m so glad you all have amazing supportive families and I just wish nothing but the best for the future.

People with disabilities have pretty much the same desires to feel love, and want to be recognized for the unique people in this world as anyone else! I am a person who has birth defects myself so I have never known any other way to live. I hope each one of these people gets their chances to enjoy their own time here with dignity sharing it amongst the people they love. Great video about a rare medical condition. Warmest regards from Greensboro, NC USA

My best friend Stephanie had this condition. She died Jan 2nd 2018. She was 26. I miss her. She just had her birthday a few days ago Ely reminds me of how I was with Stephanie. When I was around her I did most things to help her. You do anything for your best friend, but yes the stares are the worse but I must say Stephanie never cared. She just lived in the moment.

Joey is absolutely right. Your disability shouldn't stop you from your goals. I too have a disease and when I'm in a flare up I need to use the bathroom many times a day. I can't control it or hold it in. But I don't let that stop me from going out and enjoying life
@adamdavis5383
@adamdavis5383 Жыл бұрын
What do you have? If you don’t mind me asking I have one too.
@shadowsinmymind9
@shadowsinmymind9 Жыл бұрын
@@adamdavis5383 I have ulcerative colitis which is a type of auto- immune disease. It's similar to Krohn's disease. There is currently no cure but doctors are working on it. It mostly affects my intestines and colon and causes ulcers in there so it can be painful half the time. And its pretty embarrassing to go to the bathroom all time and to not be able to hold it in for more than 5 minutes. 10 if im lucky. For most people they can't eat certain foods such as gluten or it causes them pain in their belly and makes them go bathroom. For some people the pain and such is caused by too much stress and not certain foods.
@Rebecca_Bailey
@Rebecca_Bailey Жыл бұрын
I was literally just about to guess what you have as I have the same condition, as soon as you mentioned going to the bathroom multiple times a day and not being able to hold it in, I knew immediately what you was talking about, I also have ulcerative colitis and it can be a pain sometimes especially when I don't know when I'm going to flare up. If I'm going out I can't just go anywhere, I need somewhere with a public toilet just in case I need to go, I'm not really supposed to stress out either because that's one of my triggers, but having anxiety over an accident happening doesn't help either
@shadowsinmymind9
@shadowsinmymind9 Жыл бұрын
@@Rebecca_Bailey my flare ups are also caused by dealing with too much stress. And I definitely know about the whole going out and making sure that there's a bathroom nearby. When im in a flare up I'll always carry period pads, baby wipes, small plastic bags meant for babies diapers that I use to put trash in, a regular plastic bag to put dirty clothes in, and a pair or two of underwear in my purse or bag. I also keep a pair of pants in my cars trunk and I carry around a jacket so that i can wear it around my waist in case of an occasional accident. Gotta stay prepared in case the worst happens. It's a disease that's embarrassing to talk about, but people are starting to slowly become aware of U.C. and Krohn's disease. I usually keep it to myself though as there's many people that don't fully understand and then they could make rude comments such as " oh, now you're just making excuses, you can't be experiencing this symptom that many times" or "You should try *whatever* to try and heal/cure yourself."

This is tragic for each one of these people. It's so sad yet they are so strong and do whatever they can a d they stay so positive and happy. Something I have learnt from this most defies to put a smile on my face every day and stop complaining about my depression. I really hope there will be a cure of some sort to eliminate the pain and the bones from going so hard. Xxx

Thank you for this video. I teared up when I saw Joey editing videos in such a condition. I am a trans woman who's redirecting my channel to be more business focused because I want more trans people to understand we are more than just a gender label and we all deserve to have hope and love and careers, I struggle a bit because it's hard to record my daily business life when I am already so so so busy with different business meetings. Watching this video has boosted my patience for what I am doing with my career and channel. Ppl with FOP are truly the fighters and I admire these ppl.

I can relate to these brave people better than most. My dear mother had fop.my father could not walk from birth as well. They fought so hard to have a life together and even had me their son.my mother died at 51 years old in 1972. I wish she had lived to see her 3 grandsons she'd have been so happy. My father did live to see two of the 3 grandsons. Their grit and determination carried them through along with rock solid faith in christ.praise God he gave me such precious parents I'm so grateful I had them. They taught to never give up and trust jesus implicitly with everything. May a cure be found soon to help such brave people I earnestly pray. God be with you all.deus vault
