It’s sad that when people dress outside the box from what most consider “normal” they get made fun of and get odd looks, people should just be more open to the idea of being an individual, it’s beautiful when people can go out and about in something they feel confident in and not have people giving them odd looks, I went out in a massive flower crown once because it made me feel beautiful and confident that day and I got so many strange looks from people, just over a flower crown and that made me a little sad that people got so judgemental about that
@elenanojkovic25545 жыл бұрын
First of I like your username (fellow PJO fan here). Secondly, I can relate. I'm lucky to live in quite a liberal city, Rijeka in Croatia. I like to dress uniquely, not on the level of the girl in the video but you know, quirky earrings, colourfull tights, sometimes I'll add a bowtie to my outfit just for the heck of it. I also have green and blue lipstick. I was a bit more insecure during high school with more judgmental people around me. Eventually I stopped caring. I get weird looks sometimes but I don't care. It's the people who judge others for the simplest thing who are missing out. I mean there is a 70-something year old woman who I often see on the street with bright pink hair and another one with sky blue hair. Seriously they look like regular grandmas in grandma shoes, and those pulovers that I guess are universal to grandmas everywhere and even have typical grandma hairstyles only their hair is brightly colored. They look awesome.
@twentyonebeatles40455 жыл бұрын
Bianca di Angelo, I know, right? I literally get avoided by my classmates in the school hallways just for dressing like the 1950's. In fact, there's this girl who looks at me like "I think you're in the wrong era". To make thing worse, another girl told me I should go to a madhouse. I really wanted to tell her "At least I'm not brainwashed with the mainstream on social media sister". I really don't get people nowadays. They're like "You go with the flow or you don't go out".
@tehrinny70315 жыл бұрын
I've been wearing this fashion for about 7 years now. Of course, I don't really push it to the Rococo extreme like she does (but I do own and have owned a lot of the same Angelic Pretty brand items she has). While there are always some odd looks, I'd have to say that 90% of the interactions I've had over the years have been overwhelmingly positive. Typically it's just curiosity and then it's normally mixed with delight and joy. We like to focus on the negative, but it's not quite the case. I think for me, every truly negative experience that happens there's about 100 positive ones. I can only name a few that were negative from my own memory. I also don't wear the fashion everyday, as much as I'd like to. But I do wear it in public, and I've worn it in some rural areas, areas a little less open to differences, as well as more open-minded cities. I think a lot of people just hesitate to get into dressing alternatively (either in this style or any other) because they fear standing out. Honestly, you get used to it and you wonder why people give you odd looks and remember that, "Oh, I'm wearing this today." Hell, my real hair is dyed lavender and even in normal clothing, I often forget this and wonder why people give me odd looks.
@staasvaqyash37834 жыл бұрын
That's funny and weird how people are still close-minded. You know, in Ukraine, a flower crown is a quite traditional headdress for girls. It won't be strange in Kyiv. But it will be in some another places... not time, but just a place! In the 21st century, lol!

It does take confidence initially, but once you get over that hump, it builds your confidence the more you wear it. I don't dress exactly like her, but I do dress similarly (look up Dabuwawa as an example). Personally, it has improved my life in many ways just through practicing confidence alone. Yes, you will get stared at, and loved ones expressing confusion at your being "over dressed," but you'll get used to it. People treat you better in general, though. Also it appears as though she makes and sells many of these dresses. You should try your local Goodwill, I've found countless stuff like this for cheap

'She feels very confident' well, yeah. When they used to take the time to look presentable and actually care, They are going to have a feeling of confidence which makes people more sociable. You never saw a century lady walking around in her nightdress all day and staying inside now have you. They traveled to their friends houses, they talked and hung out together. Because maintaining your looks will bring you more happiness. That's just what I think though..

I feel the same way. I was just thinking about how "casual" western style has become and how acceptable it is to just leave your house in your pj's or just looking like a dish rag in general. Unfortunately I've also fallen into the "looking like a dish rag" category and I'm slowly trying to pull myself back into the world of the well dressed. Hyperhydrosis did a number on my wardrobe but now that I have it under control I'm trying to take back control of how I look. Its safe to say that is impossible to look or feel cute in anything when your armpits are pouring sweat at a rate of a leaky faucet, I ended up with a bunch of ugly old looking shirts that I had to change 5 times a day just to be wearing a shirt that wasn't over 35% soaked in sweat. Anyways I digress, sorry for the rant about myself, I've only just recently fixed my problem and my outlook on clothes changed almost more than my outlook on my own self/body. I'm maintaining my looks and it really is bringing me more happiness.
@jane65365 жыл бұрын
@@animeaftermidnight2765 hey! It's no problem. I hope you keep trying to pull yourself up. I don't know what your condition is exactly but your getting there. I dress very plainly which might make me look a little bit like a rag, but it's better than what most people might wear.
@LukasWeber645 жыл бұрын
Women today actually have careers and go to work, though, and I think that’s a lot better and more conducive to happiness and fulfillment than going to friends’ houses for tea. I understand your point, but I think that the implication that people today (particularly women) are somehow less fulfilled today than they were in the 18th century is silly.

For me it's not just about the dresses, but the entire transformation of her image. 3:03/3:06 look at Nea's picture from her young teen years, compared to now. Imo the way she changed and does her beautiful hair (dyed darker, I think?) and makeup, the heels she walks in, and the care with which she picks and matches her bags & jewellery all make a huge difference to how she looks and carries herself.
