Using 2 coat of paints makes some details disappear, like the gas tank. What will you do about that........ I don't know...... Whoppss!!!........ Whoopsee!!! XD

Agreed on all counts. I'm tolerant of production standards that are "less than", since it's really about the castings, but I so appreciate the shows where the standards are "greater than" ... like this one!

Especially when some KZbinrs have a 30-45 sec intro. I totally cleaned house on my subscriptions. Only people that are informative, funny and intelligent(without being a smart ass) are my KZbinrs of choice. Thanks.

I have to say that I really like the way it looks in the opening sequence. Sitting on that circular platform with its worn look gives it a lot of charm. I wouldn't change a thing.

i I kinda agree with you because when you restore it you essentially make a new car and you can’t even tell it’s old. so I would want to keep it all original.

I had one of these as a boy. I had a friend with leukemia who I let play with it whenever I got to see him. It was his favorite of my cars. When he died I couldn’t look at it. This gave me a fond memory of Mathew Tucker. Thank you.

Being a Hot Wheels guy (kid), I wasn't very happy when you started working on Matchbox cars. Well, between you and Marty, you have won me over and I am now enjoying this quite a bit. This was an amazing restoration considering what you started with. Keep up the good work!

My dad has one of these that's in almost mint condition. As a teen, it's very cool to see something from such a foreign time be resurrected to it's former glory. Thank you for doing such awesome work. It is very inspiring.

One of my favourite restorations yet. Good too see the soldering method to fix the metal. Pleased how well just an extra layer of paint worked at covering the pitting. Great job.

By reading the title wrong, I thought you were restoring a Matchbox with 70-grit sand paper. You did a immaculate job with the Truck. Thanks for making all these relaxing videos for years, and for teaching me about he art of restoring cars such as this one.

Great result! This piece really showcased the range and versatility of your restoration techniques. The decrepit truck had a gritty, realistic aesthetic about it. It almost looked like a deliberately weathered custom.

This wasn't the roughest looking diecast I have see you restore. However, I didnt think it was going to look as great as it did with all that pitting. Your level of workmanship always amazes me!!

I think it looks great. I used to collect when I was a kid. All gone now though. I think its awsome that someone is willing to save these little toys that brought us all hours of imagination and fun. Good work. That's a rather rare talent.

I’m lost for words. Incredible transformation! I know from message boards that some restorers ask about soldering and why it doesn’t work. Your method to first plate the part in copper solves that issue. Then zinc plating it and polishing restores the shiny silvery finish. I have quite a few of these models to restore and while some have intact sliding panels, several are damaged. I considered resin casting (my current method in making replacement parts) but sheet brass, plated, is something I will be looking into. It is a superb transfigurement of a model ravaged by time and oxidation.

You are an artist when it comes to diecast restoration, sir. Very nice! I'm glad you found a way to solder the bodies! That's gonna come in handy for customs & soldering in replacement door pillars & such! I'm almost ready to fix my mancave so I can start setting up for doing some of my own cars.
