Nick is my idol now. I'm following his footsteps, I love fitness and something that I'd want to do. I leave for the army infantry in July active duty. And then open up my own gym after my contact is up. I saw Nick's snapchat and seen all the numbers; with my planning it will be short after military but I'll make it work no matter what! As someone who served, no one EVER gave a shit about fitness or working out, except officers. We woke up, hungover, at 6:15, walked to formation smoking cigarettes or dipping, put the cigarette out and then bitched the entire time. PT was done by 7:30, at which point we lit back up again on the way to our rooms before going back to sleep till 9:30.

Hey I was wondering if you could help me I'm 19 and I've been lifting for about two years now and I've made a good amount of gains but not like everyone else I'm 6'5 and I know that plays a part in it I get a lot of shoulder pains when I bench and when I squat I don't really feel it in my legs it's all in my lower back so could you give me some tips so I can counteract this so I can make build as much muscle as possible

You need to find your own workout split, that is the fun part. Try out different splits (5x5 three times a week, push pull split, single body parts every day) and see what you like the most, what your body responds to... Is it high volume? Maybe high intensity? Personally, I prefer to have a mix of hypertrophy/power split. As for macro counting/calorie counting, its all about energy expenditure. When counting macros, focus around the big three: fat, carbs, proteins. Some people like to also count sugars, fibers, sodium intake, and potassium intake. Read a couple articles on google about IIFYM (if it fits your macros, the "diet" allows you to eat ANYTHING you want as long as you stay within YOUR macro goal. Have fun with it man, don't follow what works for other people, you need to find what works for you.

+MrGoalden Really any type of workout will prepare you for basic. I suggest working on improving your push ups, sit ups and run time. Try running 2-3 times a week with a focus on long distance running and track workouts.

my physiology professor always talks about how your body doesn't take up all the vitamins you supplement if you take them at the same time and that you should space them throughout the day but i think you said you studied nutrition so do you disagree with that? if that makes any sense lol

+Alexis Nelson Depends what it is....a multivitamin and fish oil are different so they won't interfere but if I was taking three different sources of Vitamin C...some would be excreted since it's water soluble.
