why go through the nock indexing drill rather than just measuring and marking the spine before you fletch? takes a lot less time.

I prefer to do as much as possible by shooting so it can react to my grip and shooting form/bow. Since I'll be shooting when I compete I've just always done my set up and tuning by shooting as well.
