This question is kind of off topic, but what’s your opinion on holding your breath or breathing through your shot? Thanks
@rcrchery16 сағат бұрын
Great question here! Traditionally my process is to breath in, draw while breathing out, then breath in at anchor while I'm getting on target and getting ready to go then hold that breath till the shot breaks. What I'm starting to experiment with now is that same set up but breathing out during the execution. Reason being for that is if you look at how the body works; the slow breath out slows the heart rate. When you're aiming and executing that slower heart rate in theory will help keep steadier. Still haven't shot enough this way to see what I truly think but it's something I'm working on.
@bs081502bs16 сағат бұрын
@ my issue is that when my shot takes just a tiny bit too long to break, I find myself starting to tense up need to take a breath. I’ve always been fascinated by these guys who hold for 10+ seconds and can still hit the middle. I’ve always wondered if they’re breathing the whole time during their shot process.

That’s what made me start using two finger releases. I never used the third finger it was just along for the ride. You may have to speed it up a little as a two finger just as a heads up. If you like it, my attachment piece fits the HBC Flex too!

Could the draw length be too short
@rcrcheryКүн бұрын
It’s possible depending on the archer and how they’re compensating. The draw length of the bow sets up your bow arm side of the body and the loop the release arm side of the body. But I do know people interchange that sometimes.
@willc33842 күн бұрын
How do you accommodate older archers with shoulder impingement. I have never ever been able to get my elbow that high. At best I can only get my elbow slightly above parallel.
@rcrchery2 күн бұрын
Everyone's body's are a little different on length of the bones in the arm. For me, I've seemed to always had a little higher elbow in my ideal spot than others. The main thing you're looking for with elbow height is the amount of leverage you need over the bow at full draw while executing your shot. This is controlled with the length of the loop. What I see sometimes though are people with low rear elbows aren't getting the shoulder and scapula back into position so the arm is being impeded on the path needed to take and the location it needs to be in. I'd have to see you to know for sure what direction to take. If you ever decide you'd like me to check your form out and see what things look like I do offer an evaluation for $10. You can email me [email protected] to get some more info on it all!

I have been wirking on these throughout the last week. This is true 100%. Draw length, D loop length and peep sight height are the most important to have perfect. Draw length pos comes from the length of front half and d loop pength is to control back half.

When pulling through for the release, are you pulling your knuckles off of your face?
@rcrchery2 күн бұрын
Not on my normal shot. I let my palm area give to pressure build up so the fingers stay in place for the most part. But even with a rigid hand on a resistance release the fingers will just track down the jaw line. In reality they will move very, very little.

Ha …genius. I put my hand as relatively close to having the knuckles at a 45. When I first glance at my bubble 95% of the time it’s quite close to being centered. Thus, I never pay any attention whatsoever on if my hand is tense or not. Secondly, if my release doesn’t go off when my internal clock thinks it’s time I start pushing perhaps past “point of no return” and I get a larger football float. This of course is self analysis which is usually quite incorrect.

It's crazy how many ways there are to fire a hinge and how fast we can forget! I relax my release hand while pulling through the shot, but I found that doesn't work for everyone due to differences in hand/finger size and shape. A hinge feels the most natural to me and I shoot it best so it'spretty much all I shoot even whitetail hunting. My mental queue is to "drag" my knuckles around my jaw, keeps me consistent. Obviously the shot breaks before it gets very far, but this helps prevent hanging shots/getting stuck.

I've also done this at times too on the mental queue you mentioned. Works very well for me too and keeps me engaged.

Great Video. I have a question about draw length. If my draw length is between 28.5 and 29”, should I set the cam on the shorter or longer side? And adjust from that point.
@rcrchery26 күн бұрын
Different things to look at here. Are you measuring this on a drawboard and know for sure what your draw length is or just going off a modual? Are the limbs maxed out or backed off? Backing off the limbs increases draw length. Some brands will be longer than advertised on the moduals too so that comes into play. All that being separated off. What do you want the bow to feel like? Do you want more or less let off? Doing a shorter draw length setting and lengthening out will give you more let off. Starting out on a longer draw length and going shorter will give you less let off.

😂 It's roughly 56 pounds draw weight so not too much and a smooth drawing bow for sure. It's all in the technique of separating the two hands as they settle down and you draw back.

Never understand peep alight with scope housing. If my pin is spot on to 1/16” at 20 yds , if I see the pin is on the X….should be great …? Are many/most of us “slugs” moving that far off bubble being good that we should take focus off X and look at the bubble again. Gooood stuff as usual 🏆
@rcrcheryАй бұрын
For peep alignment think of it like aligning iron sights on a rifle. If you’re off a little on alignment you’ll see a change in point of impact. For the bubble, I check it every shot as I anchor and build pressure so I make sure I’m in the middle. It’s not as bad on flat ground but add in wind or hills and it becomes a bigger deal to be dragged off level. Sometimes form breakdowns will start pulling the bubble out of the middle during the shot. If I have a consistent miss in a certain direction left or right I’ll start checking for that during the shot.

In the beginning of the video with the Mantis at app. 55 seconds how much movement is the red squiggly line 1/8”-1/4”. For you that may be poor but mere mortals would be oooh 😅With the bow hand…I stood next to Leko the 14 year old girl that won Vegas. Her Dad said she can’t worry about crossing the life live as her hands are so tiny. Is this where paying attention to the bubble would then be critical. With loop length…should one just try 1/2”, 5/8”, 3/4” and go with which perhaps gives you a better score? Thx good as always 😊
@rcrcheryАй бұрын
At the 55 second mark the red lines are the follow through motion. The orange are the lines for holding on target. One of my better holds on target for sure. For smaller hands you'll really just have to focus on consistent grip pressure and then balancing out the bow to try to keep your bubble in place. I see loop length vary from 3/4-1 inch depending on the person most commonly. Testing different lengths based off float can be a way to self diagnose for sure. It's part of my form program when I work with people on coaching and I use a combination of my computer program I made for this to show a length and also what the archer is seeing through some drills to help us dial it in without as much trail and error.

@@dancom69 You're getting great scores on it for sure! It's awesome to hear how much success you're having! Try angling out the back bar away from the bow a small amount and see how things go with the angle. The cant isn't always a bad thing though. Especially if you're shooting well. If you notice the cant won't go away then just roll with it and adjust the first axis on the sight to accommodate for the cant. Angle it a little to the left to bring your bubble back to the middle at full draw.
