Thanks so much Rickey!!! =) We just cannot wait for the day that we are able to quit our jobs and make THIS - KZbin - our full-time job!! That is the dream. We still need a lot more subscribers / views per month, but we are closer than we thought we would be, at the beginning of this year. It's been a great year subscriber-wise for us. If this continues, I'm hoping that in only 2 or 3 more years, I will be able to make enough money from KZbin views that I can retire from my 20+ year career at the telephone company.

My mom has that sterling “roses” pattern. Every “occasion” like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, we set the table and use it! It’s always hand-washed after and put lovingly back in the velvet-lined wooden box. So awesome that you were able to score with your set!

when I was 61 years old and my Mom was 82 she offered me her sterling silver tableware. I looked at her crazy and said "Since when do you have sterling silver?" My parents married in 1947. She had full table settings for 6 plus some serving pieces. She also had her mothers (my grandmothers!) plated silver set for 6. Neither woman had EVER used either set! We ate off of Melmac dishes from the laundry soap box and ate off mis matched tableware from the dime store , we drank out of jelly jar glasses with the Flitnstones on it...LOL My Mother's explanation to me was she was saving the silver for "good"!!! Well, when is it "good"??? LOL

Connie Swanson I am 65 from a family of seven children. We lived just like you did. There wasn’t a dish, glass, or silverware that matched. We got free give always from the grocery store, gas stations, and boxes of laundry detergent. When Melmac came around we learned to destroy it by placing it too close to a hot burner on the stove. Great memories!

I found a box of Gorham silver flatware for 19$ at a thrift shop. They were SO tarnished. Boiled some water, threw them into a foil lined baking dish, poured the hot water over the top and sprinkled baking soda over them. They cleaned up AMAZINGLY and are gorgeous!

It can be a simple house with amazing treasures or a palatial house with junk. (I find that when there is one piece of sterling that there is usually another piece somewhere in the house.) Excellent score on the Sterling!!!! I too check flatware sets all the time, you never know when you might find the good stuff. Even the plate pieces can get good money at the scrap yard as white brass if you get the flatware cheap enough. Well done you two. Cheers!

Wow great finds there especially all that Silverware, nice. Right now I'm waiting on a lady to come and buy my Halle Berry Exotic Jasmine Gift set (3 pieces) Brand new. I was asking $35 but she offered $20 so I said "Ok". I paid $5 for it at a thrift store so will make some profit whenever she gets here lol. Also today sold 1 of those Queen something Pasta Makers for $15 guy gave me a $20 and told me to keep the change, I paid $6 for it. Another guy came and bought my old canteen (had the striped cloth on it) for $7 I paid $2 for it. There is money to be made if you know what might sell :). We also have some things in the online auction again. Thanks for sharing :)

Wow, the value of the tableware is a shocker especially since it is mismatched. Are you quoting smelter or resale value? Do you have 500 bottles of phuphu water in your home or do you resell those partial bottles that you pick up? I haven't heard you mention our new goal of 15k by New Year.

So far we haven't sold any of the silver or gold we've found - we still have it all. We will probably do a video on it all this winter. :) We cou,d sell the silverware to that website - replacements.com - they buy, but we like them so for now we'll keep them. :) Yes we actually have 600 BOTTLES of the Phuphu water.... all half full hahahahahahaha. =D LOL I think we'll be lucky to hit 12k by New Years. Our numbers have slowed again. :)

GOOD STORY: I was visiting my sister down in Portland, had on a turtleneck, my charcoal gray woolen pullover sweater, black baggies (pants), black mid-calf boots, topped with my black full-length silk trench coat. We went to her favorite blues bar, and one of her acquaintances looked at me and asked, "Are you a hit-woman" To which I of course answered, "For the right amount of money, I could be!" ha

For those watching that don’t know, International is the company name. If it said International Silver then would be plated but because it was International Sterling it is sterling. That’s my understanding anyway. Also if you find something marked Alpaca or Alpacca Silver it is not. It’s a combination of metals. I learned these things the hard way when I first started out many moons ago.

We have not yet started researching patterns or anything... we were just ball-parking the value, and I tried to be conservative giving each piece a value of $30 Canadian $. 23 pieces x $30 = $690. I think if we ever tried to sell them though, we may get a little more than the 690, as you pointed out with that one piece. :)

Just curious 14:40 the two Canadian flags are touching the ground...... The first 85 episodes were taken offline months ago, because they just - were not as good as the others. Also, I had used copyrighted music in them originally, which meant I couldn't monetize them. I decided to re-edit and re-release them. They are much easier to watch than they used to be - used to have the ,music way too loud in them.
