Barge Canal Access Bluegill Fishing

Spent a couple of hours panfishing and managed to catch bass as well as some baby stripers

Taking the kayak to barge is ALOT of work. That steep ramp is strenuous. The fish activity also is not enough to take the kayak there.

Somebody had to say it. Sheesh. For the longest I though it was just me but I find fishing here to suck really bad. It's so pressure fished here it's almost not even worth it.

To be honest, I kill it every time I take my kayak out there. Fish stack up all around the edges/shoreline of lake Washington. A long ways out to get there but well worth it. Check my latest video out. Bank fishing is tough. Need to be one of the first fisherman out there to even have a chance of catching bass in the canal

I’ve been hitting the barge canal on the kayak almost every week starting from may and I haven’t got skunked once. We even got some prs outta there I came up with about a 5lb and my brother caught a 6 pounder! Top water bite there is crazy although I caught mine on drop shot, that works there all day long with a 100% guarantee to catch bass, tight lines 🎣

The fish may have went into deeper water. Especially near structures like bridges for shade and cooler temperature

I went early like at 7 and i was seeing like small blow ups on top

@@Tecs0uls those small blowups are baby stripers chasing small bass fry. Fun to catch if you use a small jig or swim bait. That whole area inside of barge gets a lot of pressure so if I want some actual bass action then I walk my way pass the bridge west of the parking lot. I know it’s a heck of a walk but it’s well worth it. Big bluegills and even keeper stripers hangout around that bridge in the morning. As the sun rise and shades the backside of the water from the bridge, I like to throw bait towards the middle of the canal. I may have to do a full video on how to fish from the bank over there 😂
