Fun fact did you know that outside of Goku and Piccolo, Mr. Satan is also one of Akira toriyama's favorite characters (In his top 5) Which kind of makes sense since Toriyama was always a comedy manga artist, and Mr. Satan is all that comedy aspect. And to be honest I kind of understand. Every time mr. Satan gets on screen I'm always laughing to myself thinking to myself..... *"Oh God, what's he going to do now?"* 🤣

You two are so wrong about Mr.Satan he's a good men sure he may have his problems i mean who doesn't but he cares about people deep down especially his daughter he knows his fans love adore him and look up to him that's why he does it for them and his friendship with Buu is amazing one of the best in the whole series it's wholesome and so believeable~ Believe it or not but he plays a major role in the Buu Saga along with the Z Fighters like them he IS a hero but in his own unique way so no his screentime isn't annoying or kills the moments in the Buu Saga they are very necessary to overall story I want to add that slow paste episodes are NOT a bad thing they give everyone time to breathe and process what's been going on and setting up stuff up that has yet to come if you don't take the time to enjoy then guess what? you're missing out big time~

Mr Satan's relationship with Buu is something unexpected and crazy when watching it for the 1st time, but now experiencing it again I know because he's a wacky nutjob(personality) is why he's able to pull it off, other than that this episode is trying to show the non crazy action scenes(more humor & calm..) that's to come. On that note I do agree with mr Satan having a lot of screentime in this saga, like he's annoying but I guess it's thrown in just for the sake of humor, it's still gonna be long journey before you're done with this series and on to the next one.

In the Cell Saga, I HATED Mr. Satan for stealing credit for beating Cell from Gohan. I saw it as “This bum got rich and famous off Gohan’s work while the real hero is stuck in the mountains with his family being poor.” But by the Buu Saga, I saw that as opportunistic and fame-hungry as Hercule Satan was, he genuinely was a decent person underneath. While he will never be able to have the kind of planet-breaking power that Goku, Gohan or Vegeta have, he is a hero in his own way.

Yha Mr satan really taught those who watches this version of dbz that you don't really need to be all that to beat a baddy. Yha sometimes playing it cool and just try to be friends with the villain can also change a villain's heart as everyone has reasons to become something. But during the buu saga i did like Mr satan a lot but not during the cell games though. Yha even piccolo learned from satan that its not always about punching the enemy well even though goku does it to as goku and satan are the only characters who can change somebody ideal of the world.

I don’t think this episode in particular is bad. I actually really enjoy the Mr. Satan Buu relationship and its some of the funniest moments in the show. However out of all the sagas the Buu saga definitely drags out a lot of parts. For example the Z-fighters arrived on the lookout and it took 9 episodes later for the boys to even start the fusion training. It also gets worse later with the various forms of Super Buu. I really loved Fat Buu and the original Super Buu but the various forms were very redundant and Buu essentially became an inferior version of Perfect Cell. Also the fights like Super Buu vs Gotenks which has been built up for many episodes now was pretty lackluster. Same with the Gohan vs Super Buu fight as well. This built up of a Gohan vs Buu rematch being built up just for Buu to dunk on him AGAIN cause Gohan literally makes the same mistake as he did with Cell was kind of infuriating. I don’t hate this saga by any means. I think it has a lot of great moments like the Goku and Vegeta moments. The Buu and Mr. Satan moments. The final Kid Buu fight was really great. However when you compare it to sagas like the Frieza or Cell saga though its flaws definitely show.

I gotta point out one more time how good the German dub is. I specifically remember for this episode, the moments with Mr. Satan were SO comedic. I sometimes don't like how American voice actors modulate their voice. Like, if I would try to sound like Mr. Satan or Piccolo in this episode, my voice would instantly start to hurt. And it sounds a bit too unnatural for my taste. I'm just saying, go check out the German dub if you can sometimes. That doesn't mean the English dub is bad per se. They're both awesome. I just prefer the German one....

Mr. Satan by no means sounds “unnatural” lol. Obviously if you’re going to try to make your voice sound like his its not going to work cause its a different accent. Also Piccolo is a green alien from outer space so it makes sense that is voice sounds unnatural. Even then his voice is not bad.

@@ritster21 pretty cute actually. Their voices sound very similar but I don't think they were voiced by the same person. I'm not even sure if they were voiced by a woman or actual children. Because Gohan from the beginning of Z until the Cell Saga actually WAS voiced by a boy and the way he screams "...HAAAAAA!!!!!!" at the final Kamehameha against Cell is actually my favorite version internationally. I have heard English, Japanese, Spanish, French, German and I think a couple of more versions now.... German is my favorite. 😅 I can give a couple of arguments for many examples, but at the end of the day it is personal taste. I'd just recommend you to give it a try. If you speak a little German or you try to learn. And hey, if you end up completely disagreeing with me, that's totally awesome, too! I'm not defending ALL German dubs either. Friends was pretty horrible at times and the Dragonball GT German dub was utter GARBAGE! 😅 But again, as a German and someone who knows his shit at least when it comes to THESE dubs, I highly, highly recommend the German dub! 👍 It's also often times closer to the Japanese original than the English translation.....

Still odds are that Goku could have used his own power as SSJ3 if fresh and had enough time. He only needed the spirit bomb because he wasn't expecting to be restored, which pushing also needed him refreshed. There was a point he stated he could have easily beat Buu when fresh, but thought it wouldn't be fair that Vegeta didn't get his turn.
