"Goodbye my friend" is a hell of a farewell from Piccolo to Vegeta. Aside of Tien, he was the one holding more grudges on Vegeta since the fight taking place between the Z fighters and Nappa and Vegeta. It's a HUUUGE change, and a great respect that Piccolo pays to Vegeta.

It served to help bring a close to Majin Vegeta’s story arc and further develop Vegeta’s character (in my opinion solidifying him as the best damn character this series has to offer). Vegeta’s entire character narrative would be perfect in a universe where people cannot return from death. His “Final Atonement” is a fitting end to a marvelous villain who turned good and went out attempting to atone for his sins. Strangely, though, I’m also glad that the Dragon Ball universe allows characters to die and come back (more than once in many cases… hehe).

Vegeta’s death was completely in vain, which is so sad. He just sacrificed his own life for the sake of the others, and one episode later, Majin Buu is already fully regenerated and even Babidi is alive! I honestly feel incredibly sad for Vegeta, he truly deserves better. R.I.P., Prince of all Saiyans.

Vegeta thought Gohan died, cause he didn't feel any energy from him (because he was knocked out). Vegeta said that he died and Piccolo heard him.. so he's just relaying the info further. With Gohan being knocked out.. it's just what they have to go by, causing this confusion.

Gohan was worse than knocked out actually. He barely has any life energy left. That's why Vegeta and even Goku thought he was dead, they couldn't sense his life. He got destroyed by Buu

I have always wanted a mini arc with Vegeta and Piccolo where they perhaps spar and help Piccolo close the gap in power. There have been simple nods of respect towards eachother throughout the series. Vegeta even trusts Piccolo with the safety of Trunks. I've always loved how during parties or get togethers they both show a slight distance from everyone else, they are both very similar to not being as light hearted and social as Goku but they show an appreciation for everyone by being there.

Mini-rant time, but I think it's something that needs to be said. A lot of people look at this scene where Majin Buu regenerated and are outraged by it. *"Vegeta died for nothing!"* It's not just a few people but a lot of people. And it's okay to feel sad for Vegeta, but I think they're missing the point. Remember back when Goku did the same with cell? He sacrificed himself for nothing. People were sad but not outraged by it. But when that was new I remember Vegeta fans always saying.... *"Why can't Vegeta do something like that?!"* That is what this was. And it goes deeper than that because this saga despite it's goofiness is a lot more darker than the others. It has this sense of hopeless, with everything they're doing and everything they are accumulating.... It's just not enough. They can't kill it, it just won't die.

A few minutes? That amounts to nothing. Because with actually defeats the enemy is what prevents the threat. That belongs to Gohan. Vegeta used final explosion sacrificing himself against Buu, Vegeta knew Buu could regenerate but not this type of degree. Which again leads the sacrifice to being in vain. Yeah he saved the world too for almost 10 minutes before Buu regenerated. It all amounts to the same thing.

Actually saibaman are same strong as Raditz and Raditz is way stronger than Goku when they fought. Also if you have watched or read Dragon Ball, Demon King piccolo is capable of destroying the Earth which is planetary level feat and Kid Goku was Stronger than Demon King piccolo. So you can imagine how strong the saibaman are.

Well about Yamcha, he was resurrected after defeating a member of the Guiniu Force in King Kaio's planet (as a dead person). But in this episode he seems to have forgotten that he can fly by his own power and that he has the power mentioned. On the other hand he was piloting and he was responsible for all those lives.

It’s interesting to see these characters that all fought on different sides. Krillin was always a Z fighter but Piccolo and Vegeta both had their grudges against Goku. Piccolo put aside his differences with Goku and his friends to fight against Vegeta when he arrived in Earth, alongside Krillin. And now they’re both mourning his sacrifice. The way some things come full circle in this show is really cool.
