So far the trend seems to be that the third forms require a lot of energy but does not give you enough power. Super Saiyan grade 3, super Saiyan 3, and Frieza and frost third form. Requiring more power to transform than 1 and 2, but not enough power like a fourth ,fifth or sixth

I’ll admit, Goku vs Botamo wasn’t the best start to the tournament, but it does get a lot better once Frost is introduced. If I had to say anything nice about the Botamo fight, it was interesting how Botamo’s ability worked and that Goku can’t just hit him really hard like he does with most opponents.

It largely has to do with the tone of the show. In dbz especially from Saiyan to cell arc was serious. The buu saga sort of brought back the comedy. For example gotenks vs buu was a gag fight.

Plus the English dub took itself way too seriously as well. Even Goku's speech pattern is different in the OG version, showing that he's actually laid-back and quite goofy. He only gets serious when there is an actual threat.

Frost is getting down played here. At even minimum Goku's Base form is way stronger than SSJ3 Gotenks (capable of one shot KOing him). 3rd form Frost was equal to that same Base Goku. SSJ Goku stomped Final Form Frost though (not a one shot). So if we put Base Goku at 100 for scale. Base Goku: 100 1st form Frost: 22.2 3rd form Frost: 100 SSJ Goku: 5000 4th form Frost: 3500
