Those “pins” are actually corby bolts. They are threaded then ground down. So your handles are “bolted” on and also epoxied. Good review, the 1.25lt is my favorite barky. Also a JRE size K sheath fits it perfectly and is a good alternative.

I have it in ramp-less and I prefer it. It’s one of my best go to knives in my collection.

Yup and that’s is my baby in black micarta CPM-3V with the ramp. I did put mine into an Armatus scout carry kydex sheath with fire starter. And then add a leather dangler. This Barkie is my go to knife. I have a rediculous lot of bush craft knives including BRK Bushcrafter. But the Bravo just gives me happy vibes. Great review.

I felt the same way about Convexed blades at first. But after a few year’s I’ve found them even easier to maintain than my other blades. The only time I use stones is to re-Profile the blade angle. Also replacing handles and/or pins is fairly easy once you’ve tried it.

While I agree a convex isn't hard to maintain it takes me a little longer compared to quickly clamping in my wicked edge gen 3 pro and doing a couple swipes at a perfect angle. I have made wood scales for knives and pinned them but again not as easy as tightening some fasteners which can be done in the field.

Fair enough... I’ll have to try and just leave my KME sharpening system setup and ready to use...and yes, I do prefer removable handle scales.

@dlrmon1 yes I leave my wicked edge set up all the time it's so fast I can sharpen a blade in less than a minute. Unless I'm reprofiling.

I guess I’m a collector. Been slowly trying different Bark River models over the last 14 year’s. Yes I have seen a drop in quality control starting around the pandemic. I’ve never really fused about it, the first time I go really use them that “Collector Quality” goes out the window. 3V has definitely become my best balanced blade steel. I also live in a wet environment and ruined many knives and sheath’s. My favorites are that 5”ish knives currently the BR Clip Point and Cub. My 1.25 is the original A2 in leather and only see’s Summer use. And yes, that sheath has detoured me from purchasing a few knives. In leather I like the Jenna Martin design... but mostly use Kydex.

I agree. Thanks for watching. Hopefully they will dial in the quality control and get a better sheath that would be perfect!

I actually like it quite a bit with it since most of my other blade have it I'm kinda used to it. Thanks for watching.

I'll say it again. Batoning is unecessary and NOT a bushcraft skill. It is however abuse of your primary woods tool. Otherwise, good video.

Yes but it's a great test of the blade. I would never depend on a blade in the field that I haven't made sure can baton.

We Batton all the dam time up here in Canada everything it’s either wet of frozen . Swinging a axe to to get the the dry wood is not the right way period. Spend some time outdoors buddy

What a stupid thing to say. Batoning is massively usedul when notching or splitting really small wood. Not everyone carries an axe. If you harm your blade batoning thats a you problem. Casual

The Bark river knives are the best in the world, their ergonomics are unparalleled, their blades are convex and the quality of their steels! For the price the cases are so non-functional and so ugly... the ugliest ones. They don't even come close to Spanish cases... for a fraction of the price ! my opinion to

I agree they are great blades. The sheath is the only downside and that can be remedied rather easily.
